I thought we'd be rusty and might struggle as Hudds looked a big set of players warming up and looked sharper.TrueBlueWarrior wrote:I agree tonight wasn't brilliant but some of our play at times was breathtaking, however some of our defence and in particular Gelling was awful! I think after 2 weeks off we are usually abysmal and lose but tonight was more about our character and desire which pleased me the most!
When they went 10-0 up with two virtually identical scores with our defence making the exact same mistake I thought they would have gone that way time after time.
They did to a degree but on a few occasions went back inside hoping the middle had moved left to cover but they kept in position and managed to put the tackles in.
That try form Faz was crucial and was a great break from him. That an the one from Williams pass were the tries of the night.
I also thought Powell did OK. He actually injected a bit of spark I thought.
As to the props I am sure Tauati will get slagged off for the errors in particular the two he made more or less as soon as he came on but him and Clubb were far more aggressive than Crosby and Mossop.
Where was Flower? If he's not injured one of those has got to make way next week.
