Squad for Leeds
Wigan Warriors have today announced their squad for the away Super 8s game at Leeds Rhinos.
Both sides got their Super8s campaigns off to winning starts last week, and a Warriors win would see them draw level on points with the Rhinos at the top of the Super League table.
The meeting will be the fourth between the cross pennine rivals in 2015 with Wigan winning two fo the previous three but Leeds coming out on top last time out at Headingley.
Shaun Wane makes just one change to his 19-man squad with Ryan Sutton coming in for Joe Burgess who is expected to be back in contention next week.
Speaking about his side taking on Leeds, Wigan boss Wane said:
“They’re the best team in the competition, they’re very consistent and are playing a good brand of rugby.
“They were impressive against Warrington, if we go there and are competitive we give ourselves a chance.
“You play Leeds at home or away it’s a tough game. I like going there, the crowd get behind them and it’s intense.”

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

It will be interesting to see how we fare. Leeds have very few excuses; few injuries, Aiton is their biggest miss IMO.
Odd theory but I often think we find playing Leeds easier than say Saints under KC. Yet, I would say Leeds are a far better team.

Re: Squad for Leeds
We've beaten Leeds at home, at a neutral ground but at Headingly we lost. It will be a good win if we can get the two points there.
I'd back us anytime against Leeds away from Headingly but at their place we haven't won for 2-3 years.

Re: Squad for Leeds
on present form it should be close , but Leeds generally start to play better at this time of year. If we get into them early doors and keep the pressure on we can beat them
Wigan is and always will be a town of Cherry & White
Re: Squad for Leeds
Given wigans dire away form it should be a nightmare but you have to have hope.

Matty Smith has had some real good games on the wet pitches, it seems to suit his in play kicking game.cpwigan wrote:Is the rain better for us or Leeds?
Can our forwards dominate and will the conditions suit Cuthbertson constant off-loading.
