I didn't know him personally and never met him so this may be a harsh comment (and I'm sure several on here may have met him so can put me right if so) but I never liked the guy. He seemed to be a strange angry man on the pitch but never in a good way.

I was willing to give him the benefit of any doubt back when he joined us. After he got sent off for that trip on the sideline rather than trying to tackle the player, that was it for me. Glad he left us.

In view of the fact that we are critical of many of the decisions of the RFL, we perhaps should not be making any judgement on the decision on Mathers without knowing the full facts from either side!
