Squad v Hull FC
Re: Squad v Hull FC
He might not have meant to hurt the bloke but what he did was reckless and dangerous and also against the rules. He deserved whatever ban he gets in my opinion, it was unnecessary and out of order to lift like that. I'm not even sure he needed to get involved to that extent that he did.
Also, Powell probably will get a ban. Whilst completely accidental I feel, and more freakish/unfortunate than the Tautai one, it was still careless and potentially serious consequences.

FWIW I watched the game with 2 Rhinos fans. Their verdict was that Tautai's tackle was made to look bad by timing of Flower and other Wigan player pushing the player over - no ban, possible fine or sin bin sufficient.
Powell at first accidental, but on replay noticed Powell's fingers bent as if intending to scratch - two matches!
Not my view but those of "neutral" supporters.

You could tell there wasn't by the look on his face after it happened imoPanchitta Marra wrote:The timing of the leg lift by TT happened at exactly the same time petal was lowering the players head and body, therefore exaggerating the severity of the tackle.
I don't think for a second that there was any intent of nastiness by TT.

Yet the same player had his hands between the players legs in order to lift him up!Panchitta Marra wrote:My Mrs said exactly the same.medlocke wrote:You could tell there wasn't by the look on his face after it happened imoPanchitta Marra wrote:The timing of the leg lift by TT happened at exactly the same time petal was lowering the players head and body, therefore exaggerating the severity of the tackle.

He either intended it (not the spearing part) or he actually doesn't know what he is doing on a rugby pitch

we are so weak in defence with gels and Tomkins on the right side. There timing and reading of the game is gonna lose us a big game soon..I would play gildart and Bateman in the centres for the rest of the season and sign a centre for next seasonmedlocke wrote:No, should never have brought them back, just wondering how awful Sam will be when he turns upmorley pie eater wrote:Agree re Tomkins, Meds but thought Moose had a great game. i agree it was just a braindead decision but not half as bad as gels pass near our own try line with seconds remaining.I,along with many Wigan fans S%%t myself when he passed it.I think SW would have run on the pitch and hit him if we had lostPanchitta Marra wrote:My Mrs said exactly the same.medlocke wrote:You could tell there wasn't by the look on his face after it happened imoPanchitta Marra wrote:The timing of the leg lift by TT happened at exactly the same time petal was lowering the players head and body, therefore exaggerating the severity of the tackle.

You need to add Smith into that equation.Firestarter wrote:we are so weak in defence with gels and Tomkins on the right side. There timing and reading of the game is gonna lose us a big game soon..I would play gildart and Bateman in the centres for the rest of the season and sign a centre for next seasonmedlocke wrote:No, should never have brought them back, just wondering how awful Sam will be when he turns upmorley pie eater wrote: Agree re Tomkins, Meds but thought Moose had a great game. Correct. I don't think we will miss TT. I bet Roby is hoping that Powell doesn't get a ban, he'll have to play 80 mins against MM if he does!markill wrote:He might not have meant to hurt the bloke but what he did was reckless and dangerous and also against the rules.
