We were playing v three 17-year-old kids and a team whose average age was 21. We had an opportunity to work (much needed) on our play with possession and blew it even before kick off. Who had easier opponents? bar Leeds.

I think it is time to abolish the Good Friday or Easter Monday games.RL players need time to recover from the battering they take.I think SW and the lads deserve praise for yet another 4points over the Easter weekend.Lets stop whingeing for once and give praise where its due.Leeds had the easiest fixture of the day, at home also and look what happened to them.

Time and time again history shows us that David can beat Goliath.

Why is this? mostly due to Goliath underestimating and not being full focused or mentally where they should be.

Its only natural.

Couple this with the fact we've just come off the back of a huge game with our arch enemy and this was never going to be a walkover.

Job done. Move on.

Yes, despite the officials and a below key performance due to probable resting of players, fatigue and spirited oposition!!

Some of us look at the bigger picture. Hull KR did nothing to prepare Wigan for facing Wire and beyond and still huge ? over possession. Save the points scored may later be an issue. In terms of resting / developing players, improving our play in possession, the games was nigh on useless.

Biggest mistake anyone can make is to assume for whatever reason that one team will trounce their opponent in any competitive sport and as for Hull KR having a number of debutantes in their team I always remember the phrase - if you're good enough, you're old enough. Their newbies hadn't been in a match like our players had on the Friday, they probably have enough energy for ten men, they had nothing to lose and everything to gain and would also be full of enthusiasm so it was always a potential banana skin and we should all just be pleased with the result and move on.

One of my favourite matches has always been the Good Friday encounter with Saints in 2003 when nobody gave us a chance - what a great match that was. What ever happened to Jon Whittle - the lad who got drafted in from playing rugby union and got panned by some fans for not being entirely up to scratch. Always felt sorry for that guy that day.

Anyone any official news about JB? He's the type of player we really need on Friday but if it is likely to be detrimental to his health give the guy a week off and let him recover, there are a lot of games to come and whilst I hate the thought of losing to Wire any time I would rather our players not be put at risk of serious injury if they are less than 100%

If you had to rest somebody v Hull KR who would you have rested OJ? Bateman or Sarge? or Powell?

Was John Bateman knocked out late on in the game, wish FM said it was a bad knock and he looked knocked out.
Hope he's OK, takes a lot to put him down this way, very fit strong bloke.

He was out cold PM, he will/should not play on Friday.

You can't tell much from an Easter Monday game because they are, bar the occasional exception, utterly awful games that are usually only redeemed by ineptitude from both sides making it close. The sooner common sense prevails and they scrap them the better (or, more sensibly, just one round should be played over the Easter weekend on Friday, Saturday and Monday).

Anyway, nothing changed with our attack. It was still utterly terrible. Whether the players had it in them to give any more than what they did is a different matter. We've had some shocking Easter Monday performances even when we've been playing well (and we've still managed to win when playing poorly too).

Rovers didn't offer much. I don't think anyone expected them to. It was basically a case of waiting for our attack to actually get things right but it took longer than it should have.

O'Loughlin still looks to be the only player with creativity in the side. I was pleased that Smith took the line on more although there were still some poor last tackle options from him and he didn't exactly lead the way out there.

It seems like we'll be relying on our defence holding out and us possibly getting some tries from some individual brilliance on Friday.

How are 9, 7,6 and 1 going to develop understanding with nonsensical resting / dropping. As a coach it is a huge negative against Wane.

Whatever happened to John Bateman will be rested for his own good blah blah blah.
