I hope Justine Carney is as good as her brother Justin

Next thing we will have "From A to B" coming on here offering odds of 500 to 1 he will be this seasons Man of Steel
He may be the England Scrum Half but that is only due to the fact that most of the better Scrum Halves in the Super League are from down under.
The main issue with Smith is being given a four year contract until 2018 when we had Williams coming into contention for the position and another Scrum Half in Powell doing the utility job of back up Hooker and also covering the half backs in a game if one gets injured. Plus Sharrocks who is also a Scrum Half has also progressed to the first team squad.
So why give a older player like Smith a contract until 2018 when three younger Scrum Halves were coming into contention for promotion to the first team squad.
Another issue with Smith is the fact that a great deal of his play is predictable and not creative enough.

You missed out Rocky who given the chance could have been a blinder.

Sorry, but I was on about the Scrum Half position and as for the position of Stand Off, you are right to mention Hampshire as he is the only natural Stand Off in the squad, but in order to play both Williams and Smith, he has been sent off to Castleford on loan and now we have Williams possibly on a long term injury.
The thinking at Wigan is a bit stupid on occasions!

I have to assume you're taking the mick with the first statement
The ONLY reason smith was in the frame for England is he plays for Wigan - had he still been at Salford he wouldn't of been near.
It's only because he is a yes man to wane that he is in ours! His only talent seems to be he never gets injured which is why we have to put up with a 7 who can't pass, can't run, and can't kick week in week out

Why did he pick the inexperienced Highinson at centre when he could have put sarge in there and Tierney at fullback. I'm not saying Highinson was poor but it just added more inexperience to an already depleted side
Tierney has cost us a try due to his hesitation under a high ball in every match he has played this season. Sandow, Gidley and Ratchford would have destroyed him and possibly his career.
Good thread and I agree. I would think the video session this week will be interesting. I think your likes of Farrell, Smith, ISA, Mossop and Clubb need to have a good look at themselves after that performance or lack of rather. I guarantee those afore mentioned players will be eating a lot of our salary cap and they are just not producing the goods week in week out. Farrell however has had good games this season but probably cost us the game Friday, I think Tony Clubb has had 1 good game and the rest he's gone AWOL. As for ISA well I don't think he should of played at all Friday what has he offered up so far I ask??? I keep cringing when hearing Wane in his press conferences talking about players being tough and this an that and he's one for Wigan the Wigan fans im sure have seen what this guy can do!! But what can he do to help us win games apart from moulding him into yet another enforcer with no skills or rugby nouse??. What ever happened to winning games with skill??? And everyone's wondering why our attack is probably the worst and sluggish for that matter in the league.
Play what you see Wigan lets start using our heads rather than our balls.
