U3????"

He played at Ince Rose Bridge as an amateur ????
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I'm sure Pats have him down as 'one of ours'!

Well that's wrong
A product of the Wigan Academy, he played as a junior for Ince Rose Bridge ARLFC

I've been told Burgess is going to the Rabbitohs this week before his contract starts at Wigan.
Will be interesting to see, I hope it happens and he gets a few more opportunities at the Bunnys.

Spin it all they want it was a terrible move for him far too early in his career i dont know who advised him over it but they should really be apologising to him.

He has pace to burn but so young to be trying his luck out there just yet,i just hope he does get another chance in a few years time as i do feel he can cut it just not when he's this young.

Still good to have him back,i just hope he's as good a player as when he left.

Where are all the comments that it is wrong to re-sign former Academy players ?

Welcome back, Joe.

Hope you enjoy the experience of life in Australia!

Hardly likely. It was most probably his agent who'll have got a fee for getting him over there, then another one for negotiating to bring him back.
“Usually the fans that abuse players like Sam have never done anything of any note themselves. They’re nobodies, whose greatest claim to fame is abusing someone who has, and these so-called ‘Eddie the Experts’ pretend to their mates that they have."
