2017 Signings

Post by Brad5926 »

From a good source at the club I am led to believe the below signings are done deals for next season;

Budgie (obviously)
Tommy Leuleui
Prop from NRL who I am told is Frank-Paul Nuuausala
And the last one shocked me aswell

Kyle Eastmond.

Very good source and rarely wrong so will be interesting to see if this pans out

Too long (much) out of RL. Not a good prospect; he used to be fast and tricky, but years and years in union will have got rid of those abilities. Probably, at least, 2 stone heavier also.

Thought Eastmond signed a new contract for Bath shortly after Burgess left.

So did I doc !

So I was slightly surprised when I was told this. Out of the 4 signings I listed this is the one I still question.

Can't remember him ever kicking at Bath.

You're right I think a guy called Homer (doh) kicks for Bath, though I might be out of date not sure. But Eastmond was a regular kicker at Stains before he left for the dark side.

Last season at sintelins he was suspect in tackling with an iffy shoulder, had an attitude problem including slagging off fans.
Not been impressed by him, and don't think he'll be cheap.

I think Eastmond has gone well at Bath, and seems to have sorted out the 'attitude issues' he had at Saints. He is a talented and smart footballer, but whether he can show that again in our code remains to be seen. I wouldn't discount him out of hand, though.

He hasn't kicked goals at Bath, though, cos they're not short of kickers: Ford, Priestland, Homer.
