What is happening to the Labour Party?

So how do the rules work then? Are you born into a certain "class"? Do you elect to be in one?

Can you move freely "up and down"?

Do you have to have a number of characteristics that you "tick off" to meet the criteria?

If I am "underclass" but then win a million pounds, does that make me "working class" or do I leap to Middle?

It's all very confusing and leads me to believe that it's a pile of *****.

Of course having put forward the suggestion, I presume you have all the answers?

Sorry DaveO I missed your earlier reply (don't know how).

So to summarise you went to University (Polytechnic?) and got a 2.1 and somehow that shows why the grammar schools are a bad idea......hmm. We will have to disagree on that one.

As for the rest of your replies, well you didn't really answer the questions did you?

I have no idea how much a binman earns. Say it's £20k for sake of argument.

Surely if people are not willing to do that job for £20k then the raise will rise? Is that really a difficult concept to grasp?


Economics is NOT a zero sum gain situation. If it was, we wouldn't be here typing stuff on our computers. We would be sat in a cave fighting over meat.


So your view of Socialism is that you "take out in proportion to what you put in". Excellent that's the benefit budget cut then.

In my experience there is no such thing as one nation Conservatism. Wealth and self interest drives the Conservatives. It alweys has and will. Wealth and self interest that ultimately believes that if others suffer so be it, if the environment suffers so be it, if the world suffers so be it. 'Supporters' may well be deluded that they somehow are part of this 'great party' but the reality is anybody is expendable as long as I am okay.
The LibDems got shafted by getting into bed with the Conservatives but in many respects they balanced and/or restrained Conservative self interest. Likewise although no a good enough reason to support remaining within it, so did the EU.
Perhaps we get the politicians we deserve

Correct. The working man is his own worst enemy as was proved June end.
I've still not found anybody with a credible reason to vote out. Immigration limiting and democracy are a pipe dream fed to those who readily believe.
The Labour party has took a swing to rhe left with Corbyn, who, I might add, would surely have a solution for those unemployed due to his no trident vote?
Fortunately for him this vote will actually strengthen his position amongst the £3 tree huggers.
The conclusion is a one party state and a welcome to Little England.

Wrong, the election of Corbyn by ordinary people and not the Labour MPs is more in line with the traditional roots of the party and if we do end up in a one party state, it is because of the way that Blair and his successors both in Parliament and Party HQ have taken the party so far to the right that many of the electorate now see it as a second Tory Party.

And as much as people are not happy about the cost of Trident, they will welcome the decision to keep it as a deterrent, especially in view of the world situation today and the threat of the 'Islamic State' trying to take over the world.

And I do wish you would give it a rest about us being 'Little England' as anyone will tell you we have always been that when you compared the size of our country with others, but now with a added problem of overcrowding which will lead to even more unemployment in the future which you are so concerned about.

The only thing I see of England being 'little' is the National Football Team!
