If you wanted a stark demonstration of why we don't score points, watch Warrington yesterday and the speed of their passing across the field. It's what we do but so much quicker and it causes gaps to open in defences and gives you attacking options. We are so slow from the play the ball that the ball hardly ever reaches the wings and our scores come through massive long passes (occasionally) and kicks (generally).
To be fair, the one time we passed quickly against Hull - we scored. Wonder if the coaching team noticed that,

So why have our wingers scored more tries than Warringtons?

Because the rest of their side (not least their scrum-half!) chip in with tries too? They have scored half as many again as Wigan this season.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

The thing that struck me about the Wire performance was the offloading. Something that appears banned at Wigan.

That and the fact that their 7 is on a different planet to Smith.

Yes but they do the hardwork first down the middle. Once they got quick play the balls from winning the ruck their playmakers had the skill and room to do the damage.

That's strange isn't it though. Two of the top four teams for offloads this season finished in the bottom four. Hull who finished top are below Wigan for offloads. And just to cap it off the team that made most offloads also made the most errors and scored the fewest tries.
