Maybe I'm totally missing what some of you are trying to say BUT the whole situation is disgusting because his treatement is not equatable with the treatment handed out to other professional players.
It is because the initial post (by MrsLam) said that lengthening the ban was disgusting and made no reference to other incidents and you wrote that Terry's ban was unjust. The suspension and extention are well justified, it's Pryce's lack of punishment that is unjust, as you have now corrected yourself upon.
MrsCarney, I assume that last comment was some kind of strange joke?

Newton didnt intend to cave longys face in.
If you believe that then I think you need to wake up and smell the coffee,he knew what he had done simple as that and by rubbing his hand on Long's head whilst Long was on the deck has only added to the case against him!!And as for the RFL I only hope they use the same sort of punishment for any other player and not just Newton!
I find the injury irrelevant. If you intent to hurt opponents by tackling recklessly then whether you achieve that aim or not is meaningless. Big suspension, fine, just do the same every single time. As it stands they have not and I would love to see somebody official explain how Pryce escaped. He was shouting/screaming/pushing/shoving with Sykes. 2 minutes Sykes gets the ball and Pryce launches a fist at him. Pryce has the same history and temperament as Terry

dont particularly like coffee or the smell of it so i think i'll pass on that. Next point, i'm quite sure Newton didnt rub his head thinking woo i've just caved longys face in, and i'm sure he didnt know the severity of the injury until the rest of us did. As for your comment on the RFL i think they have proved they have no intention of being consistent already, with leon pryce having to apparant case to answer to.

A pre-season friendly counts for a game so.....

11 games to go so arrange about 5 pre-season friendlys. Always a loo-pole.
Which is precisely why the RFL have made it a ban until the 15th April, instead of a set number of games.
Maybe the queen is having another garden party the week after the ban originally ran out and needed names for the guest list!
I agree the punishment should never have been lengthened, it was a record ban anyway and should have just stood! They had already made an example. Something i fully intend to follow is the red cards and reports issued this coming season and i intend to question the RFL when they appear lenient. As the referee did nothing about the Long incident, has anything been said to him about policeing the game? As the incident as now come up as so severe [ iam not saying it wasn't] to warrent such action then why did the officials on the day do nothing? Looks like someone else should be in the dock with Terry.
