I cant go to any more matches this season because I am away. I am glad, watching Wigan has become bad for my health-the anger and frustration are too much to bear. I feel that Mr. Lenagan, whom I have supported in the past, must take the necessary action, otherwise the Club, who I have watched, off and on, since '67 are doomed to go the way of Bradford, Halifax, Barrow, Workington etc. ( with all due apologies to them).

The final straw.

Been the same all season!

People saying smith would of made a difference give your head a wobble - we play exactly the same every week no matter who is out there

Tomkins is stealing a living at the moment

Wane has dragged us down to below the level of noble and it's only the poor standard of the league that's saved our blushes

I personally hope we get smashed for the next few games and are no where near the final because I fear if wane somehow licks his way there is another year in the bag no questions

I now don't look forward to watching us anymore it's turned into more like some random christening were you know you have to go but it's just dull as dishwater to be there and you just want it all to be over so you can go home again

I hate to say it but my love for rugby league is almost gone I'll never stop supporting Wigan but I actually find football almost if not more entertaining now and I never thought I would say that - heck I think I'd even watch a top quality Union game and have more fun

Wigan in particular are dross utter dross - boring lifeless dross
I'm like you - shocked at how bad we played.

I was privileged to have seen Billy B, Eric Ashton etc.
I then started supporting Wigan in the '80's until we moved to Germany in 2001. Still support Wigan but not has a spectator.
Watching that display last night I'm glad I don't.
13 individuals on the pitch, all trying to win the game on their own. No guidance, no team work.
I despair I really do.

Your glowing praise for one of the worst half backs to have ever played for Wigan amazes me. No pace, cannot tackle, cannot pass both sides and you (and others) create a myth that he has an outstanding kicking game. Wrong! He simply does what other mediocre players do and kick and hope - usually hitting an opponents legs. As for goal kicking - again rubbish, this guy was bought for £35k and that is exactly the quality we paid for

I will guarantee you this that Wayne Bennett will see through his lack of ability and not select him for the test series

Why I think we'd have won if Smith had been playing as he'd have told Tomkins to kick for goal to level up and if it was 8-8 nearing the end he'd have kicked a drop goal to win it.

That is reality as Smith has won us games this season with drop goals that otherwise we wouldn't have won. Also he habitually goes for the 2 if the game, score and clock dictate it.

But Sam was the captain last night and apparently played on to orders from the stands. Kicking goals or not is hypothetical. We KNOW we should have done. We CHOSE not to

Tomkins need to learn from last night.
The wrong decisions re the pens were made.

If they were his decisions he needs to learn from his mistakes so he doesn't repeat them.

If he was obeying instructions from the coaching staff then he needs to exert his authority as captain and make his own decisions as obviously they got it wrong.

Most of the top class catains I've seen at Wigan including Andy Farrell, Edwards or Eric Ashton would have taken the 2 at some point.
Especially with a drop goal man around like Matty Smith.

Irrespective of injury Sam has IMO ruled himself out as a future Wigan captain.

I feel the same. In the Cas game Joe Cobb got so fed up with him he refused to speak to him. Ref's will just treat him in the same way they treat Danny Brough, who is the perfect example of a player who has shown so little respect to officials that it's actually harmed his team on several occasions.

Out of interest though, who do you think is captain material?
Liam Farrell, John Bateman!
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
