You have mentioned TC before and on both occasions I support your opinion. I would go further and suggest him for Head Coach period. This guy exudes class in every facet of the game.Wiganer Ted wrote:Like the common view on here I think Waney needs the help of an attacking coach, preferably a former half back.
Our attack and "points for" column have looked very poor from the start of the season and the problem should have been resolved earlier than now. Problem I suppose is the availability of quality personnel.
I've mentioned previously I'd have liked the club to offer an attack coaching job to Terry Campese. He's a year left on his contract but I'm sure he'd ditch that if got a coaching offer from Wigan.
I've usually seen TC as a clever player who could open defences with at times almost ease.
On a related tack our game seems to be following soccer in that natural abilities are being coached out of players to fit in with fixed structures. Guys on 250,000 per week having to fit in a pattern. It defies logic.
RL is a simple game with the simple objective of scoring tries. Players who train together will. Learn each other's strengths and weaknesses and be encouraged to express themselves eg play what's in front of them and not let the game plan get in the way of their natural instinct which has been honed by the game planned in training. Wigan 1985 said against Wignes we looked like we had never been coached. I thought on the other hand our display was a symptom of over coaching and against a team that knew our'game plan 'let that very same plan get in the way,so to speak, of their natural intuitive instinctive capacity to play appropriately in those circumstances That's how I believe Campase plays his game and I believe he could inculcate it in our young players
