Re: Relieve Wane ASAP, write the season off ..
The team spirit does not need improving, it is very good.
Defence is excellent.
Both are down to Shaun Wane.
Our attack is utterly abysmal with the points scored proving how bad it really is. That is also down to Shaun Wane.
We need to sort out our attack without adversely affecting the team spirit or defence. That suggests to me we need an attacking assistant coach. Keep the parts of the game that are good and excellent then improve that which needs improving.
Improvements need to be made now. Not end of season or for next season. To end the season as we have been playing would be a disaster as fans would find that unacceptable.
The repercussions for the club would be massive.

Why thankyou. Do tell me how I am arrogant and pig headed.sheepsteeth wrote:CP the irony is very amusing. Wane is arrogant and pig headed, two terms that could well be used to describe you and your attitude on here.
I don't agree that SW is a failure nor do I think the sun shines from his rear. I have in fact gone from thinking he was great to now thinking we need to consider next season. That's my opinion and contrary to what you think I'm entitled to it.
Now back to the OP I ask one question. If we sack him today who replaces him for the rest of this year and going forward?
A short term replacement can be almost anybody. Westy won the WCC in Australia.

It's the same structure now just done much worse. The further we are from when Madge left the worse our play is, just the same but worse. No changes just sloppy and slow now.thegimble wrote:Explain his attack in 2012 and 2013. Personally I think it's time for a change. It is clear to see that something is not clicking and a new approach is needed.
However why on earth would we write the season off. It has kind of slipped under the radar (probably because Sky don't want to acknowledge that the remaining 3 rounds are pretty much dead rubbers) but the top 4 is settled. All thats left to be determined is who plays who and where (and the LLS but in all honesty who remembers the hubcap winners)
We've basically got 2 games left this season (providing we win the first one) Worst case scenario (and the most likely in my opinion) is an away semi final at Hull. They would pack the place out given its the first time in a long time that they have been in this situation, I can't see us taking too many over there and would be a very difficult game. Away trips to Langtree or the HJ wouldn't be anywhere near as intimidating prospects as there would be decent away followings at either.
As bad as we've been this season (and boy have we been bad) we're still in with a shout which is a testament to how good the standard of superleague actually is. Whatever happens between now and October, we need a change.
I don't dislike Wane, he is Wigan through and through and I don't think anyone will doubt his commitment to the cause and his passion for the club, but commitment and passion are not good enough. We've become all too predictable and need a fresh man in the job to bring in some new ideas.

Problem is Andy, well IMO, making up the numbers so to speak and reaching a final nbut more than likely being easily beaten is not acceptable.
Re: Relieve Wane ASAP, write the season off ..
I totally agree CP, it isn't acceptable to be making up the numbers and like I said it's a testament to the standard of the league that after playing as badly as we have, we find ourselves in a position where we could end up as Champions which even with my most cherry and white tinted spectacles on I can't say would be deserved. (Although i'd happily take it and gloat from the hilltops!!!)
Talent wise we are one of the best teams in the league. We just aren't playing well, which can only be down to the setup.
So who comes in? Maguire? I think that would be a step in the wrong direction, particularly given the similarities I would draw between Souths and ourselves. They have been well and truly found out this season. Trent Robinson? His name has been mentioned in hte past. Roosters haven't been great this season either. Who else is there that we could realistically get? We've been linked with Stephen Kearney before and if we could get him in then that would be a game changer. Wishful thinking on my part of course.

Problem wih lot of fans is they are arrogant thinking we should be winning trophys every year and playing top quality rugby each week and somehow if that happened and we got likes of bellamy, bennet etc and smashing teams every week our fans will still not be happy.

With the talent and conveyor belt Wigan have built up over the years your darn right I am arrogant thinking we should be winning all games and trophy's we have a fan base second to none. I work hard for my season ticket money so yes I am bothered if I am watching the garbage that is been dished up the last couple of seasons. You must be unique to not be bothered about winning any games or trophy's. But hey if your happy with that I am not going to knock you.

Yes, we had fans complaining every week when Madge was coach. If you do not have the expectation of success then go and watch Swinton or Rochdale.
