The game? Hull had their chances in the first half and should have probably scored more but they didn't. Wigan defended superbly. Hull seemed to run out of ideas, we got stronger and more dominant and snatched a victory.

NOTHING whatsoever to do with the officials. I am struggling to recall many mistakes, certainly less than either team. By all means enlighten us all.

I don't see an agenda; I thought Thaler was fine too; I don't recall any particularly bad decisions. and I agree with cpw about Sam. I can see (and accept) that he's far from fully fit. The question is, will he ever be really right again? And also, even if he isn't fully fit, I'd still be expecting to see more of the rugby brain we hear about in creating openings in attack. And I don't think it's good enough to dismiss this by saying, our attacking plays don't give him the space and platform to flourish; as a world-class player, isn't it his job to shape events on the field, not just react to them?

Hull are a very good team and we outscored them 3 tries to two.
A remarkable defensive effort.
I'd like to know how much possession Hull had in the first half.

I don't see the need to be so critical after all the players have put in that much effort to win the game.

I stand by my opinion of the performance of the referee ,
the penalties thaler gave against us holding down interfering not standing square all of which we're penalised for as well as talking back to the ref, only wigan committed these offences,
are you telling me that hull we're perfect for 28 minutes!

Yet you cannot name one example. I would suggest the following. Hull wre dominant in the first half so they got more penalties. Sacond alf the game was even then Wigan were dominant so penalties more equal.

Sam is a more rounded player but much worse than he left because he is not a match winner and certainly not a marquee player.

But a 100% better defensive player.

Sarge has made a hell of a lot of mistakes at FB, an experiment that came and went ! What it proved, is that Sarge isn't a FB.

Rather have Rocky at FB than Sarge.

For all moaning about 2 of the kicks he let bounce one was a crap kick that luckily for Hull went in line with the goal post.

Seems it kicks Sam day change from Smith. Also everyone praising Shaul and wanting him for England. Same thing happened last year to Hardaker.

Tomkins until his injury against Wakey was playing close to his best and I recall reading on here someone saying he was worth 18 points in a game. Not sure who but will not troll out to look for it but I know I read it.

Guys injured that's obvious. So instead of berating him have a touch of sympathy for a plyer putting his body on the line.

Shaul this time next year will be In the same class as Hardaker. He goes well in a good side last 25 minutes what did Shaul. He is nothing more than an average full back. Ratchford and Sam if fit should be England's choices.

I think his ability under the high bomb in defence is 100% better than when he left us to go to the Warriors.

You can have all the confidence going for a towering bomb, but still make a minor misjudgement and cause a cock-up.

I think Shaull did make an error on a high cross kick tonight, if I'm not mistaken - when Josh almost got to a ball he missed to score, but it went out of play (when they gave us the scrum feed as Josh was already out of play ?)

In the meantime, and circumstances with his experience, who would you go with at FB ?

I don't think we have particularly strong cover at fullback beyond Sam, NF, I think it would maybe have to be a winger, possibly Manfredi, although Joe Burgess was hinted playing fullback prior to going down under.
Lewis Tierney may be Wanes first choice.
I'm very hopeful that with a good end of season rest with a positive pre-season, we can see Sam back to nearing his best that we all want to see, and I daresay need.
