Sounds an excellent idea to me, continuous Tory rule. Unfortunately not true. How can you have a leader who doesn't know that a train is jam packed not ram packed??

A one party state will be great for democracy, unless you count UKIP, a tory party clone with a ban all Johnny Foreigner's policy, unless you're the ex leader's wife of course!! :D

We don't have a centre left party anymore as Labour has vacated that part of UK politics.
It needs the creation of a new centre left party like when the Gang of Four left Labour to set up the SDP.
At the start they were doing very well and massively popular with Thatcher then polling as the most unpopular Prime Minister since polling began. Then the Argies invaded the Falklands and from then on for a decade Thatcher was unbeatable.
It was not the opposition parties that got rid of Thatcher but her own MP's.
I do hope after Corbyn is re-elected as Labour Leader there will be a split and a centre left party created.

Interesting Ted. I think that is a possibility if Corbyn and Momentum continue to push their agenda.

On the TV newspaper reviews last night they were saying that a Female Labour MP who is Jewish had received over 25000 abusive emails in 12 hours when she challenged Corbyn about his inquiry over Anti Semitism.
That's an utter disgrace.
The MP has now hired professional protection when she goes to the Labour Party Conference next week.

Corbyn is going to kill Labour stone dead within the next few years.

He's already killed it Ted. He'll get in and impose his ultra left win agenda and woe betide anyone who gets in his way!
Burnham has seen the writing on the wall and looked after himself and who can blame him?

The far left (Corbyn Et Al) have managed to hijack the Labour Party.

Corbyn's policies are not far left.

Can you or anyone else name me a far left policy he has?

About the only one that would fit the bill with some people is renationalising the railways which happens to be popular with over 60% of the public according to polls, Labour and Tory.

He has said he is anti-austerity and only the other day the austerity champions the OECD came out and said the time for austerity is over (due in part to brexit to be fair) but he is not out of line with the mainstream here.

The alternative to his policies are what exactly? Not renationalising the railways and having the farce that is Southern Electric continue? Nuclear plants built that mortgage future generations to punitive prices for electricity?

I think people have forgotten it is the job of politicians to persuade people to back their position on a range of issues and not to simply ape public opinion. That is populism and is in fact very dangerous as the Brexit vote showed.

Corbyn and Labour are doing something that has not happened for years and that is offer an alternative to the Tories and Tory-lite policies of Ed M. The trouble is they are not very good at it!

If people bothered to look at the actual policies and stopped falling for Daily Mail/Express headlines that Corbyn is basically a communist, they will find the policies are much more of a social democratic nature than batshit loony left wing stuff.

The problem Labour have got is a much more sophisticated neoliberal establishment that is supremely well organised in fighting against the slightest hint of a change in direction.

That in itself would be a mountain to climb but unfortunately they have Corbyn in charge and he is an own goal in the battle against that but I'll say again, if you look, the policies are not far left policies.

Corbyn is a pupet Dave, McDonald and co are the driving force. Are you seriously pretending Corbyn Et Al have not dragged Labour to the left and many of the manadate are extreme lefty trots. The power in Labour has moved further and further left. Corbyn could not care less about the 9 millions voters that elected Labour MPs. The cosey club are far more important.

Very simple Dave, When Corbyn wins at the weekend, you and I will both be 6ft under by the time the Labour Party wins another General Election.
