Magic weekend
Why are we not playing Leigh in the magic weekend? The RFL would never suggest the two Hull teams not playing each other. Did the club not suggest this as an obvious Derby game for the Weekend?

In my view it should be 1v2, 3v4 etc. based on the previous years league positions.

London/Cardiff is nearly equatorial and the savanna is twice as expensive as the Toonmoto748 wrote:I don't.fozzieskem wrote:

Newcastle? That's virtually Lapland! And have you seen the prices of those igloos?

But you do what you have to do you go where you have to go. Brilliant weekend haven't missed one yet.

Re: Magic weekend
I don't think it should be a league game at all because us playing Wire 4 times, Leigh potentially playing Salford 4 times etc can give the final standings in the league an unfair balance. I'd rather it be a 9's tournament like the NRL do, with good prize money to ensure clubs put out strong teams.shaunedwardsfanclub wrote:In my view it should be 1v2, 3v4 etc. based on the previous years league positions.

Re: Magic weekend
We've enough games as it is. SL doesn't need additional matches.
No 9s IMO, move the magic to the C Cup.
That would give an even number of games in the fixture list.
My wish list would be 14 team SL with each team playing 26 games.
Then have a top three for the GF. The top of the League goes straight to the GF, teams 2 & 3 play off for the other GF place.
Magic be transferred to the C Cup. The final end of June.
Semi first weekend of June, Quarters first weekend May and last 16 first weekend of April. Magic to be at the Q final stage.
Lets just get the Magic away from SL and reduce the games played if only be one at this stage.

Good call WT ! Some good ideas there. The way I see it, at the moment the RFL are pulling in around 70,000 fans over the weekend and I feel they are averse to changing things around in case they don't achieve that attendance figure, and therefore lose money on any alterations they make to the system. Probably too big a risk for them atm.
Re: Magic weekend
Seriously, I went to Cardiff and the Etihad; Toon is just too far away (700 mile round trip), and the prices also take the p more than a little.
Re: Magic weekend
And I like Wiganer Ted's suggestion a lot too.
