I live in Leeds. 3 Rhinos fans I've spoken to accept it was a bad tackle and don't specially like Ferres.
Why do we have a thread devoted to a previously unknown Leeds troll?

3 Leeds players reported for crusher tackles in that first half. Garbutt and Ablett adjusted their positions so as not to cause harm and had no charge to answer. Ferres made no attempt to reduce the danger and made sure he landed on top of Ollie Gildart. That's the difference. You cannot defend it. Does someone have to be killed by causing harm to the neck area like Phil Hughes in cricket when he got hit by a bouncer before you can accept it's wrong? Hughes death was a wake up call in cricket. What if it happens to be Callum Watkins who gets killed or paralysed? You'd be all over it then wouldn't you? I would call you an idiot but that would be an insult to idiots.

. Because we've lost yet another player to long term injury and it's raw at the moment Morley pie eater. We'll be over it and talking about something else on Thursday.morley pie eater wrote:I live in Leeds. 3 Rhinos fans I've spoken to accept it was a bad tackle and don't specially like Ferres.

I haven't said it wasn't wrong. I don't believe it was deliberate and therefore think the length of ban is harsh. They wouldn't have a name for this type of tackle if it wasn't something that can regularly happen in a game without due care and attention.5miler wrote:3 Leeds players reported for crusher tackles in that first half. Phil Hughes death was a freak accident. It's not really relevant here. If the RFL think there's a risk of someone being paralysed by a crusher tackle the referees need to be calling held earlier.

It was a deliberate act, one that the officials agree with. In my view Ferres is lucky to get away with a six match suspension. Had the roles been reversed then all the one eyed Leeds fans would have been calling for Gildart to be hung, stop trying to defend the indefensible the facts speak for themselves.Toosmooth wrote:I haven't said it wasn't wrong. Toosmooth wrote:Gildart was pushing up. The only way for Ferres to complete the tackle, was to push him back down. It's unfortunate Gildart got injured, but a 4 game would be harsh IMO. Ferres has had a checkered past, but he's a victim of circumstances here.
That is the biggest load of nonsense I have seen on here for a long time

Suffice to say that you sound like the guy who says, when he punches someone, "His head hit my fist M'lud" :doz:

Oh, and while I'm at it "Too Smooth", Phil Clarke descibed the crusher tackle as "one of the worst he had ever seen".
Knows a lot more about these sort of injuries than I do, thank God.
Don't defend the indefensible.

And.......as a Wigan supporter, my only concern is the welfare of a fine young player by the name of Oliver Gildart.
