FPN....AGAIN!

Post by 6742hitch »

After watching last nights game I have come to the conclusion that 'big Frank' (loose term), shouldn't grace the pitch or even wear the shirt again.

Every player when carrying the ball made ground, went forward, even the smallest, yet our biggest always got hit hard, he went down, ran hard and got pushed back, it was doing my head in.

Now compare him to Clubb, a massive difference, even after what Clubb's gone through!

+1

However looking at our squad we will have to put up with him until seasons end.

I had similar thoughts about Isa recently however he had a good game last night.

Yeah Isa is another one for me.....

Surely we have enough props in Clubb, Sutton, Tautai, Bretherton and maybe Navarette. Where's Flower lately?

Wells 12 tackles, 3 missed, 5 carries, 22 metres

Tautai 22, 1, 13, 87.

Clubb 15, 3, 6, 71.

Lockers 26, 0, 12, 55.

Isa 33, 3, 16, 120. (probably his best game for us)

Bateman 30, 0, 18, 92.

Sutton 25, 2, 21, 139.

FPN 23, 0, 13, 90

Micky Mac 18, 2, 11, 65.

Powell 26, 1, 4, 21

FPNs are by no means the worst figures; he just hasn't lived up to the hype but has been a good steady player.

Personally I think FPN, Micky and Sutton should start as the front row with Farrell and Bateman in the 2nd row with Lockers at loose. Bench would be Clubb, T and Joel (offers more in attack than Isa) with the last bench spot going to Isa or Powell depending on how the coaching staff want to play the game and Tommy's knock to his ankle.

The biggest dilemma comes in Manfredi is fit. Do you drop Davies if dom isn't match fit?

Sadly due to injuries and loans the front row pretty much picks itself at the moment, as do the centres, FB and halves.

FPN has been *better* in the last few games, but that's starting from a pretty low base. He certainly has come nowhere near fulfilling his rep. I was in the minority who were unenthusiastic about him when his arrival was first mooted, and as far as I'm concerned, if he wants to go back to Australia, that's just fine with me.
