Re: New signings for next year
What about Garry Lo off Sheffield Eagles? 23 year old winger top try scorer in the Championship!
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Josie, as you know, last year's Championship top try scorer is in the squad and fourth choice winger, Liam Marshall.

Dave Taylor, seriously? There is a reason he has moved clubs pretty much every year.
Do you mean our players or our signings?

3 years at BrisbaneWiganer123 wrote:Dave Taylor, seriously? There is a reason he has moved clubs pretty much every year.

2 years at Rabbitohs
2 years at Gold Coast
How is that pretty much every year?
or do you mean the year he played at Catalans before going back down under to Canberra, A chance to play professional RL in Canada is a chance in a lifetime, you can't blame the guy for going over there to sample the lifestyle and get a nice paycheck
Re: New signings for next year
He was hoping to stay with Canberra in Australia but he had already signed the Toronto deal for 2018. I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave after a season, if not during.medlocke wrote:3 years at BrisbaneWiganer123 wrote:Dave Taylor, seriously? Re: New signings for next year
It all depends if FPN stays or not.
If he stays then we seem well covered in the forwards.
FPN, Flower, Clubb, TT, Sutton, then plus Bretherton and the younger lads.
Should FPN leave then we need a replacement of similar size and experience. It certainly won't be Taylor although I have to say if he was announced as a signing I'd think we could have done better but with the right training he could have been a good addition.
As for other signings, not too sure, our halves needs sorting out whether a signing is required will depend on how Shorrocks is recovering. As for the backs, we seem well covered if we include Forsyth and Higginson as cover for centre. If experience is thought necessary then we'll have to buy.

Think he'd be a great signing, even if it's just for the excitement factor.pedro wrote:ok ok whats the reason? Aussie international, origin player under 30 and a big unit. Just what we need.Wiganer123 wrote:Dave Taylor, seriously? There is a reason he has moved clubs pretty much every year.

See that Tony Smith is saying we need to do something to liven up the game and promote it better. A couple of big name Aussies would certainly help.
Wouldn't like to go back to the days when Catalan had more Frenchmen playing for them than we had British players playing for us but the odd star or two I'd welcome.
