Lots of negativity regarding George Williams on here but I am told he has been injured all year and has had injections to get him on the pitch

ive thought this for quite a few months.....he was on fure at the start of the season...... he would have been rested but for the injuries ie tomkins, shorrocks and escare

Cas have built up an aura of near invincibility this year and good luck to them for that.Teams have been psyched out by this and been standing off and letting them play.This is exactly what we did in the first half,result 26-0.In the second half we got more into their faces,won more ball,and scored 16 points.10 points behind and getting on top athat point ,but couldn't maintain it.Rabbits in the headlights iI'm afraid.Not much wrong with the squad,but I think GW is short of confidence,hence the over reliance on kicks.I think several players are feeling the knocks at this stage.It's easy to bag certain players .Tommy puts a lot into every game but his scrum half days aregone,better as a hooker.Sam P made a massive effort last year and has not looked as lively this time around,not unusual that,and lets bear in mind FPN has not missed a game so far.Gells took a while to get back in the groove after the injury but has been much improved of late.It has been an exceptionally tough year ,perhaps we should remember that as we sit at our keyboards in the comfort of our homes.They don't go out there to lose!

Beaten by a better team on the day simple as that. Yes we came back in the 2nd half but Cas had taken there foot off the pedal.WE missed lockers. The funny things is we can still qualify for what another battering this time at Cas

Cas played as well as they needed to to beat Wigan.

Personally i dont think they got out of 2nd / 3rd gear and didnt need to. Yes they are a well drilled, well organised side, but could you seriously see them competing with Wigan, Saints, Leeds or Bradfords best teams during the SL era because i cant

Wigan were lacking in everything yesterday - no game plan, no idea, no attacking threat, no desire, no fight, no enthusiasm - need i go on

the above was typified by 2 of the tries Cas scored in the 1st half - one loose ball - 1 player reacts (Cas) and Wigan players stand and watch. 2nd one the young scrum half beat half the Wigan team without even throwing a dummy or side step - he simply changed direction and went in untouched - now you tell me that the effort and commitment was there - i dont think so

Too many unforced errors in the 1st half - and i struggle to remember us completing a set without knocking on - watering the pitch before the game and even again at half time - is somebody taking the P*** - we couldnt keep hold of the ball - i know lets have a laugh and water the pitch again - cos i certainly wasnt laughing

I think the score flattered us yesterday we only lost by 16 the gulf in playing standards could have resulted in a cas victory by 40 to 50 points.

We had no idea tactically same as all season and our skill levels compared to theirs were dreadful.

Why is this the answer is simple while cas are out on the training pitch running through their moves, thinking of new tactics we're in a wrestling pit knocking seven colours of sh*t out of each other.

I think that gets to the point quite well. We don't look fit either. I think the "Captain's run" we hear about every now and again is probably completed at jogging pace.

I can most definately disagree.Gelling should be moved to loose forward with sol if we keep him in the front row. Gelling big, fast,sidesteps off either foot and good ball handler.

I can most definately disagree.Gelling should be moved to loose forward with sol if we keep him in the front row. Gelling big, fast,sidesteps off either foot and good ball handler.

Funnily enough i was contemplating that while sat on the toilet the other night, i first thought move him to the second row and move Bateman to 13, then i wondered if Gelling at 13 could work, i would be happy if he was moved to the forwards but as a centre i feel we need more of a solid Renouf type of player instead

Yeah good point dave. we didn't look fit or sharp yesterday. It was so slow it was predictable and tedious to watch. What annoyed me was when Wane said we didn't want to get into the grind, I don't think Cas did either they played with width and speed, two clean breaks out wide from their first two sets, hardly grind rugby.

Exactly. The tone of the match was set in the very first set. A quick shift out wide and they went nearly the length of the pitch. Something we seemed unable to manage.
