Was it actually announced that Wane was staying as in he might not have been?

Not as such but (and it’s clear to me at least IL has people reading here,Facebook,Twitter etc) he said this was not a time for sackings as Wane essentially has done what IL has asked for,win trophies no matter what.

So no not the dreaded vote of confidence but an absolute belief Wane is the right man for the job and as such IL,Rads and Wane have/are conducting an in-depth review of what went wrong this season and no IL isn’t happy either with those last two games in particular, mentioned that performances aren’t what they were as well,do he’s not sticking his head in the sand.

Season ticket sales down but match day attendances holding up but admits the average is down on a few years ago

His main worry is for the greater game very clear not many people watching the sport now so there’ll be no money from sky come 2021 if things don’t change, the answer to that though is simple play like Cas etc and sooner rather than later crowds and audiences will increase surely?.

Plugged the Aussie trip to me it was met with polite applause but that maybe my take on it.

So if you were expecting Wane to go well he isn’t But did anyone really expect him to go?

Lockers had already told me earlier in the evening, (before Mr Lenegan officially announced it) & that he didn’t fancy Canada anyway.

He won three awards at the dinner.

Players Player

Player of the Year

Chairman’s Special Award for Services to Wigan Warriors.

Mr Lenegan then read a text he’d received from Nathan Brown about Lockers & that he’d been offered mega money to go to the NRL but he’d turned them down as he wanted to stay at Wigan. He also said that O’Loughlin was the best British player he’d seen. ( Not sure of the exact wording, but that was the gist of it )

Young Player/s of the Season were Liam Marshall & Tom Davies

Try of the Year was Liam Marshall’s v St Helens

Tackle of the Year was Sam Tomkins v St Helens

U19’s player of the Year, The Edwards/Johnson Award went to Josh Ganson.

Community Award was Ben Flower

Volunteer of the Year went to Olivia Malcolm Walsh.

That’s it I think on the awards front.

Central Park Offices will be moving to Robin Park as will the training set up, U19’s, U16’s & Reserve Team home games will be played there as Orrell has been sold.

I asked Mr Lenegan would the running track be staying & it is. So I then asked would fans be able to stand on the running track as the seating area is too far away to watch games played, he didn’t know.

Although it’s been an awful year for the Club, on & off the field, the evening had a feeling of optimism for the coming new Season ????
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
