Chairman's Address
Chairman Ian Lenagan addressed the Wigan fans in his opening speech at the recent End of Season Dinner.
Thanking the fans for their support through adversity this year, Mr Lenagan provided an update on the internal review since the end of the season and said the club now know the direction for the future.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Mr Lenegan's Speach
The thoughts I had were, first, we are lucky to have someone
like Ian Lenegan who has put money into the club and who
has apparently streamlined the running of the clubs affairs.
Secondly, I can't see why we have to ditch the winning culture
to make the rugby more attractive. The fans are calling out
for greater skills, at 7 and 9 particularly, when has skill
lost games?. Sean Wane has been instructed to win games, I
I question whether his tactics will win any more cups. Runners
up perhaps. I don't need to say any more, it's all been said.

He could have just said we will carry on as we have and hope for the best, what a load of waffle.

Re: Chairman's Address
In fairness, and I am not a massive fan of IL, but that was a decent speech considering.
I mean what else could he say?

Re: Chairman's Address
Nothing mentioned about signings by IL and we've not heard anything since.
I do hope that the reason our likely signings are not being announced is that said players are appearing in the World Cup. That they are of a very good standard and protocol with the player, his club, World Cup team mates prevents anything being announced at present.
There's one thing IL will know is the general dissatisfaction with the way the team has been playing, some results and general under performing.
Hopefully we will have two or three excellent signings to strengthen the squad and arrest the decline in season ticket sales.

Re: Chairman's Address
I didn't think that Mr Lenagan made any commitment to new signings or a change in playing style in his address. He could have clearly stated that we intended to do something about one or both but he didn't. I hope I'm wrong but don't hold your breath.

Re: Chairman's Address
The same for me, I wont be renewing and I , like the players will pick my games unless we see change.
The speech did nothing for me at all, infact it didn't really make sense and scooted around the issues. It Ok pointing out about the last two games but what about all the other tripe prior to that, ie Leigh and Cas away, Wire at home etc.
The chairman has done well for the club no doubt, HOWEVER, is the issues similar to the one whereby the coach is to close to the players, is he to close to Wane to dismiss him?
I ve read just read that Wane wont be watching the GF as he conducts another review, can I suggest he watches it to see how the game should be played, rather than the style he forces on the players.
Keeping this coach for another year equals disaster.
No recruitment equals disaster.
2018 WE CAN LOOK FORWARD TO AN INTERESTING MIDDLE EIGHTS.
But Wane knows best and "we ll be ok"
