Wes.
I hope he turns out good, he looks a shoe in for Lockers, the Wane ruination factor not withstanding.
As for Bolton there's been gypos on the car park at the macron this week. Two shetland ponies were pictured grazing on the grass and my first thoughts were not more donkeys!
So Messi yes, in my dreams!

Re: Signings?
We could always re sign Pettybourne he has no contract at the moment lol
On a serious note we need experienced players to bring on the youngsters, and big experienced props protect the younger players from getting battered mm

Re: Signings?
Like all of us I'm really hoping that Gabe does well and as several people have pointed out, any criticism about the signing doesn't reflect our support for the individual player. He is small for a prop and maybe they hope to play him at 13 but let's be honest he's not going to replace Lockers is he? If a talented 20 year old with no first grade experience is a better option than anyone else we have in the squad I'd be amazed (and very excited). Will he be better at 13 next season than for e.g. Bateman, Faz, Joel or Willie Isa to name a few. Our coaching staff are no closer to finding a replacement for Lockers than they were three years ago when it should have been obvious that we needed one. Hoping that Gabe will become a Lockers replacement will put a lot of pressure on the lad, let's just see how he goes. What would an aussie side expect of an equivalent signing of e.g. Callum Field or Jack Wells (both have more first grade experience). Signing Gabe is not going to have a major impact on our team next year. The complaints are based on the worry that he may be our only signing for next year and don't forget there's still no sign of the addition to the coaching staff that 'may occur'. We're all on the same side so let's please avoid sniping at each other about who's the most loyal fan. What matters to the management is how many people pay to come and watch the team and they should be concerned that some of their customers are clearly having doubts.

Re: Signings?
Part of a wish list perhaps but I'd like to think we'll get a quality prop from the World Cup.
If we were then an announcement wouldn't be made for a few weeks yet.

Hoping that Gabe will become a Lockers replacement
From above I see him as support for Lockers we do not have a 13 to replace him with. If that is so he will have had the best player to learn from with SOL and Sam Burgess.

Re: Signings?
Correct he won't be coming over for free I agree but if he is better than what we have and makes us a better team then I am all for it.DaveO wrote:Well he can't be coming over to play for free so he is taking salary cap money up even if on a low wage. So any recruit that doesn't address the obvious issues is going to be questioned for that reason alone.TrueBlueWarrior wrote:If we had said that is our only recruitment this off season I could understand the frustrations however lets see what happens and if the players we need are not brought in then by all means voice our concerns, I know I will be!
We also have supposedly the best academy in any sport according to IL so why did we need to go and sign a player who Wane has called a "project" from elsewhere? Have we not already got enough of our own projects?
Again I will reserve judgement on other signings or lack of till the end of pre season!

Re: Signings?
Said it earlier, gut feeling.
With ST sales to be announced you'd expect the club to go all out to give the fans a boost. It ain't happened yet on both counts.

Re: Signings?
I think that Lockers will go to prop and only play 60 minutes and the Aus player will go to loose forward, i think this is the thinking of the club mm
