Should Monaghan sign then I think he'd make a massive difference.
Hope there's something in it and not just an empty rumour.

Please stop all this silly childish backbiting!

Anymore on this thread & it will be locked!

Wes, FYI I am sorry but I’m not the only moderator on this site & this is the first time I’ve been on since locking the thread on Web Warriors.

I don’t spend every hour on here so I’m again sorry that I havent seen the posts until now.
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I'd have thought it would have been done and dusted by now given there's season tickets to sell. If We were losing a player then there wouldn't be any messing, he'd be off.
The longer it goes on then the chance of any appointment becomes slim. Purely my opinion.
For what it's worth I don't think it's exciting anyway.

At the start of last season we thought our squad was good enough to win everything. The squad has hardly changed so how come they've all of a sudden become relegation candidates? I think there's some who need to bring themselves off the edge. Although, it isn't all rosy. It would be good to sign someone that will make a big difference if we can, it would be great if we got an improvement in our style of play and it would be marvellous if we could more consistently select from our best 17-20 players each week. We aren't relegation fodder laughing stocks, nor are we treble favourites - the truth lies somewhere between, and I'd suggest closer to the latter given we're joint second favourites with the bookies for both SL & CC.

I've heard it is a done deal for next season, but he's still contracted to Catalans at the moment.

Exiting or not, I think most people are desperate for some assistance for Wane.

I always wondered why people thought the squad was so strong last seasons always thought the club had weakened itself, certainly in the prop department and Tommy was always a risk coming back as was Burgess.

Sam like him or not is every inch what I would use the marquee ruling for he is box office even if only to stand there and take abuse from the opposition supporters, but Williams simply isn't a marquee player, hes not even the finished article yet somehow the club where persuaded by the thought of him being lured to the bright lights of Warrington, the club panicked in my opinion, even now we as supporters and I suspect the coaches don't know if he will reach his potential and thats all he is potential at the moment in my opinion if he does then Wigan have a hell of a player but if he doesn't then they've over paid for him.

If Burgess was a risk, it paid off if you judge it by his try a game record. Tommy not so much. And Williams was our best player for a year and a half at the point of the new contract. If his market value was marquee level then that deal needed to be done. Even with room to improve he was the top assist man in Super League last season. For me, the thing he doesn't do is control the side, admittedly not ideal for your leading half. That will come. The other thing is he isn't a great media presence, that may influence how people view him.

You are quite right about assistance but the question is does he personally want it? IMO he's the problem and this season will prove one way or another.

Generally RL contracts run until 31st October so we may hear something in the next couple of weeks.
