I just don't get it and it surely must be something that Mr Wane should be addressing. We can't keep scraping wins with a 2nd half comeback. It will bite us in the bum at some point!
Interesting stats from Bilko in the Wigan Evening Post : "This was the sixth time this season Wigan took a score of 4 or less into the sheds at the break, but on the flip side no side has scored more than one second-half try against Wigan all season. It was the seventh occasion Warriors have overturned a half-time deficit and their first half points difference is -9 compared with second half of +180"
Why can't Wigan play the 1st half?

It's got to be the players attitude to the game. They seem to start off alright and then after about 10 minutes the plan goes to pot. They need shaking up. It could be the uncertainty in the squad about who is staying and who is leaving. If that is the case play people in the squad who we know are staying and the others can sit on the subs bench or not be in the squad at all. This may very well gives those who are staying at the Warriors the incentive to put in a good shift.
The other thing that needs sorting out is the Sean O'loughlin situation is more worrying. When Sean goes off the squad just seem to loses all confidence. He is going to retire at sometime so it needs sorting out now.

It's because the referee won't let us play. Yet again on Friday after a good start the ref decided it was all about him. He blew up for every infringement even if the other team wasn't complaining. This totally messed up our game plan and gave Widnes some proper field position.
Then in the second half he put the whistle away and we started to get our rhythm again.
It was the same in Catalans and the same at Leeds. Once the ref stops ruining the game, we start to take over. Its as if the ref is trying to keep it close in the first half.
They are ruining our game. The first half was as bad on Friday as I've seen for a long time. If the had opened the gates at half time, I'd have left.

Those whose futures are undecided and are Sutton, Bateman, Gildart and Sam T who bar Sutton because he is prop are all usually 80 minute players and the only one who has questionable form is Gildart but he is on the whole game.
On the other hand two players who both have deals in place, Powell and Willam, don't seem to be being incentivised!
I think the reason is far more mundane. Too many penalties given away.

I remember when Lockers was doing the big screen on Sky, he was talking about the runs people make which don't have an instant effect, but which open up space later in the game. As we are built to go through gaps, and set up one on ones rather than steam roller teams, it seems to me perfectly plausible that we become more effective the longer the game goes on. So, Williams and Lockers - for example - holding the line and making a few runs early helps to create space later on.
