I would hope SW's love for the club would outweigh that, but I do agree with you!

Wane's tendency to never know when to stop talking is one thing I definitely won't miss when he's gone.
Wane is right though, so long out of the game then becoming head coach at such a big club is not feasible.
That is a matter of opinion and even if it is Wane's opinion he has no business in his position making a public comment to that effect. He's not a fan on a forum discussion potential appointees.

If Wane offers his opinion on any potential coach in public and it is in any way negative he is casting doubts on a coaches ability to do the job. He's effectively ruling Edwards out of the shortlist before he's even on it officially and it's none of his business. Just like it isn't to say Winder should have a go or not.

By commenting like this he is going to force IL to justify his choice with respect to his ex-coaches opinion if the evental coach is one who the all-knowing Wane has given his opinion on.

If IL has already decided it's Edwards having your soon to be former coach making such comments, that he doesn't think the clubs chosen successor is ready for the job is going to go down like lead balloon with IL.

If Wane wants to offer his opinion in private to IL that is up to him as it is up to IL if he wants to take it into account but speaking publicly about his potential successor is bang out of order. I would imagine IL is not best pleased.

Just think your all taking it out of proportion ????
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I don’t think IL would pay too much attention to whoever Wane says should or should not be next coach. IL is his own man and imho is a shrewd operator. He’s also innovative and bold with the club so I’m looking forward to whoever he appoints.

So DaveO thinks Wane doesn’t know when to stop talking.

I would presume most coaches leaving on good terms have a say in who succeeds them. wane has had a massive input im building the club culture and winning ways i don't mind him putting forward his opinions. Do you not think Madge would have done ti same when wane was picked?
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.
