Re: Signings??
If we are to make a signing it should be an attack coach.
George is our only go to man, we know it and the opposition teams know it. Shut down George's attack and they shut down Wigan's attack.
We need an attack game plan as we haven't got one. Or at least if we have its not obvious to me. We need planned moves which have to change and vary. Not use two moves which every other club has sussed by round 15. We need someone who can vary it depending on the opposition and how they set up their defence.
We do need players to replace FPN, Sutton, Joel and probably Bateman but priority to me is someone who can improve our attack for the remainder of this season.
An attack coach would be my next signing.

Add to that replacement list Sam, Joel, Brethy and possibly Tommy and Lockers.Wiganer Ted wrote:If we are to make a signing it should be an attack coach.

The commentary team (the excellent Bill Arthur and others) were unanimous in their praise of MM, noting that Cats' improvement in form equated to his playing (they have won 8 out of 12). Also, he was instrumental with quick play and telling short passes in the majority of Cats' tries. I can't recall much of that at Wigan this season.medlocke wrote:Why, because you think he looks good in a shoddy team, I've just watched the game and can only remember him being mentioned twice, Not missed him one iotaSouthern Softy wrote:Tony Gigot and move heaven and earth to get Micky Mac back.
But never mind them, the speed at the PTB, both in actual playing and the distribution was something that we can only dream of at the moment. Similarly, the decision-making. MM isn't perfect but he's a whole lot better than what we have at the present.
As for Gigot, he's one of the few oppo players that is always worth looking out for. |Even without his inspired drop-out yesterday (he put in a grubber - collected it himself and made 50 metres) his injection of pace into the attacking line is something again that we struggle to see these days.
Even if you don't rate him, for anyone to look good in a 'shoddy team' means that he must be doing something worthwhile.
