Re: 19-Man Squad: Vs Hull FC
Was at Billy Joel last night so trying to keep up with the game with a few thousand in old Trafford let alone the 50,000 that did turn up was utterly hopeless 4g my arse, right rant over not read any reports so that said it seems purely from the result it was a close game, any standouts or just a scrappy win from a team low on confidence?

Well said, some people don't want the truth to get in the way of a good argument do they!No straw damn us wrote:Williams was probably Wigans m.o.m. How people can comment on a game they haven't seen is beyond me.pedro wrote:He did have a very good gameHanley the God! wrote:What a load of crap we are. Haven't got a clue in attack. Useless! Sack Wane NOW for god sake. Sounds like marquee boy Williams having another blinder ????????????
Tommy Leuluai and dare I mention him Dan Sarginson also played well IMO.
Williams made 193 meters and six clean breaks.

bowden, sneyd, talanoa, griffin, ellis, abdul, hadley and manu....... maybe more but i call that bustedjosie andrews wrote:Where are they busted big time? They seemed to have a fairly decent squad to me. There were only a few younger players involved in the team outside of the 19 & I thought they played well.Firestarter wrote:Nick pinkney was the commentater and he said he couldnt believe how clueless wigan looked in attack..... he said they seemed to rely on kicks all the time...... a wins a win but lets not forget hull are busted big time...... would we have beaten them if the roles were reversed? I very much doubt it...... i just hooe we compete next week at cas....... if we get battered i will be very disappointed( considering all the other teams have competed minus a lot of bodies)
Jamie Shaul went off at half time with a foot injury but I thought all the big main players were involved.
Most teams will now have a week off due to the international on Saturday so they will be able to sort out any minor injuries or niggles. Wigan won’t have the benefit of the free weekend unfortunately ????

Ellis is retired, even tho they say he’s come out of retirement? Bowden is out for the season. But they still had a good squad out.Firestarter wrote:bowden, sneyd, talanoa, griffin, ellis, abdul, hadley and manu....... maybe more but i call that bustedjosie andrews wrote:Where are they busted big time? We had up to 16 players out last season & had to rely on the kids, that’s why you have big squads.
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Why the doom and gloom? We have won at Hull, the only team to have done so this season, so whichever way you look at it the result was a good one. Let's not forget that Wigan have absentees to, Budgie, Manfredi, Faz, T, Greenwood, Wells.

The difference between Williams' and Powell's stats is incredible. No straw damn us wrote:Williams was probably Wigans m.o.m. Williams made 193 meters and six clean breaks.

Williams - 16 tackles, 14 tackle busts, 6 clean breaks, 24 carries, 193 metres.
Powell - 26 tackles, 0 tackle busts, 0 clean breaks, 3 carries, 11 metres.
Powell stifles the play down his flank. Time to scrap the split halves and go back to playing as a pair with Powell as first receiver and Williams popping up on the left and right, running off Powell.
Alternatively Sam to SH, Escare to FB and Powell to bench hooker.
