RL Computer Game

Post by 100% Warrior »

After years of seeing people moaning about why there isn't a rugby league computer game finally their prayers have been answered.

I know the protests have gone to extent of a petition on the internet with regard to this subject, haven't signed it myself personally.

Anyway, Alternative Software are releasing 'Super League Rugby League' on October 31st. This game will be available on PC, PS2 and XBox.

The game not only features Super League, but also NRL, State of Origin and Internationals. All the teams are featured in the kits they are currently using this season.

Also, there is the option to create both players and teams.

To find more information about the game go to website www.rlgame.com

The website tells you about all the features, shows screenshots and movies of the game.

If the website is enough to persuade you to buy the game you can already pre-order it from Alternative Software by emailing chris@alternativesoftware.com

To all those people who have campaigned to have a rugby league game created please support it now it's here, that way RL fans will not need to wait a decade for the next game to be released.

It has been stated that if this game is a success there is the possibility of it becoming a series of yearly releases.

The game is also being released in both Australia and New Zealand.

The demo indicates that this game is going to be a huge disappointment. I hope the finished product is FAR better than the demo.

For those who haven't played the demo, every tackle was a stood up tackle, taking up to 10 seconds before the tackle was called as held, there was no offloading in the tackle, the kicking system was pants, every time you pass from the play the ball you pass to the man who played the ball in the first place....

The list goes on.

Ruined what could be a good game.

Unless there's VERY positive reviews and/or an updated demo, I'll be leaving this game WELL alone.

Can I just ask... has no-one played Alternative's "Super League Pro Rugby"?

It's entertaining, fun, and requires a degree of skill. And it was only £15.

They probably still do it....

never played that?? is it on pc or ps2? the only rl game i had when i was younger was the megadrive nrl game.. never saw any other game since that..
u would be surprised at the LACK of coverage / media attention rubgy league gets in the midlands & probelbly even less in london.
i have to really search for the rugby league world mag every mnth, & the weekly round up paper is non exsistant..
so if we can get hold of the new game i for 1 will be rushing out to get it..
i`m more curious to find out if it will be available in large chains like GAME etc...

& i read on there q&a section on that site from the game and it seems like they have come a long way from the demo...
hope so anyway....
the wigan saints mpeg looks good....

I too HAve Played the demo and admit it was pants but u gotta remember that the demo was made last december after just three months of development so its no wonder its pants, i have downloaded a few movie clips of the game and it was superb, the graphics were very good and the passing and tackling seemed to have been sorted out, the demo did frustrate me at times cos it passed to the person who jus played the ball and half the time it gave forward pass but after seein the demos as i say it looks super and cant wait to get my copy
