We just need to sing constantly, all those who do not sing should sing if not clap along to the songs.

I want to know how many South stand barmy army people come on here?

Me and my family used to go in the south stand but moved to the east because of all the drunken youths in there. We sing and shout all the time. Even at the tri-nations match we kept it up when no one else could be bothered! So come on all you wiganers, let's hear the jjb ring with the sound of our voices and let the team know we're behind them all the way!

Wow its ages since ive been on here! Anyway, to the point. I know i may be disliked for this but iam a huge latics fan also a warriors fan because in my opinon any team to come out of wigan must be worth supporting !At latics games the atmosphere is unbeliveable compared to warriors. And unlike warriors they dont just sing when there winning! Being a young fan myself i go to the match for a good atmosphere and to have a laugh! If warriors want to start bringing in more young fresh fans they really are going to have to sort out the atmosphere problem because as a game i prefer rugby but if i had to choose between both season tickets i would choose football purely for the fact the atmosphere is around 10x better and louder!
ive been to both and the atmosphere at the football match just dosent compare to the fantastic atmhosphere created at the jjb on a friday night.DONT SING WHEN THE TEAN ARE LOSING ,TAKE IT U DIDNT GO TO THE LEEDS MATCH(70-0)AND THE STS GAME(75-00)the fans never stoped all the way through ,they certanatly out sung the sts, leeds a diffrent story but gave as much as we got,its a little harder at the jjb to get 2 stands rocking rather than the 1 stand when were away, and all stand together, bring it on cant wait

i went to both actually and ye fair dos we sung ! But latics dont get anywhere near the same amount of supporters as warriors and they still make twice as much noise latics can have 11,000 and still make more noise than warriors with 25,000! The highest crowd latics have had was arsenal home this year with 25,004 now the atmosphere at that game was magic we were giving old trafford a run for there money ! Even west standers sing at latics games !!! Anyway i agree we need to get everyone singing! Maybe we should print some songs into programmes like they do at latics !
Take me home wigan road to a place i belong wigan rugby not the latics take me home wigan road!

Different sports, I'm not sure if things should be really compared. In soccer you might have to wait absolulely ages for someone to score, so the crowd have got to have something to do to aliviate the boredom, whereas points are a bit more frequent in rugby league so the crowd's reaction is inevitably different. On top of that, Latics have had to wait a long long time to get the kind of success they are enjoying at the moment, they've had all this singing and whatnot stored up for years. They're having success, which we have not had for a while. If the rugby team can start improving then you might hear a bit more from the fans, but to be honest for a lot of last season there wasn't really much to cheer about. The UTC game, for example, was definitely one of the low points in the years I've been watching the club, and I'm glad I was supporting the other team that day so I had some excuse to cheer for something!

Apart from the fact the view is better in the East Stand, and it's a similar position to the old Pop Stand at Central Park, I suspect it's the "drunken youths" that you say that are keeping the barmy army away from the South Stand...
