He played 76 times for Wigan.

Sincere condolences to his wife Angela, son Daniel & his family & friends.

RIP Les, used to see him nearly every day walking with his wife & the dog.
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Was sad to see his health deteriorate in recent years. I often wondered how the head knocks as a player contributed.

In Memoriam: Les Bolton

Wigan Warriors are saddened to hear of the passing of ex-player Les Bolton, who played over 75 times for the cub.

Arriving from Swinton in 1978, Bolton would go on to make his debut in early 1979 on 17th January against Wakefield Trinity.

Bolton, who made 76 appearances for Wigan during his two years at the club from 1978-1980, received the heritage number 745.

The Club passes on its most sincere condolences to his close family and friends at what must be a difficult time.

Les Bolton’s funeral will take place at St Matthews Church, Billinge Road, Highfield, Wigan on Thursday 14th February at 11:30am.
