Thanks 'Dan'. It's always deprsssing when we miss out on a player but that's why people believe in the salary cap. I hope we keep looking for a prop this season. I assume you're referring to saving money for the George bid but surely that money would be on next year's cap?

If we were after Lawler, I worry about our prop recruitment in general (not that I didn’t already) and it confirms we’re not learning our lessons. He hasn’t been playing as a prop anyway but there isn’t a great deal of difference between prop and his role at 13 but the guy is about the same size as Partington. We do not need anymore players who are workaholics, aggressive and good defenders but don’t make much impact with the ball. We need a couple of 6ft+, 17 stone+ bruisers, who will dent the line and drag defenders with them. Rads and Lenagan should give the prop recruitment job to somebody else because it’s been an Achilles heel for too long now.

Yep, but... Its not a case of Wigan don't have the money, Cas just wanted him more. which in my opinion is fair play to Wigan for not chucking money and overpaying players they feel don't warrant it that big a percentage of the cap.
