I understand that Canberra paid him a couple of months "severence", not the full contract.

Let us not forget how many people wanted George to leave Wigan because of his inability to organise the team and produced very little imagination to deliver a try making pass.

In my humble opinion George is not world class and I believe we can do better if the club works hard at recruitment.

Theres a rule in place where players are assigned a secondary value by the RFL. I dont know how it works totally but im lead to believe this is why.

But. As far as im aware. There is nothing stopping them taking him “on trial”

I agree. His biggest issue is long kicking when the team struggle's. Unlike Sam Tomkins Williams will not win you a game. Problem is we need a replacement for Hastings.

He’s won both us and Canberra a few games.

I remember fans wanting a organising half back to be paired with him in order to get the best out of him

That is my view and why I was worried about a Williams and Smith partnership.

As experienced as Tommy is and as good as Hastings is and the potential of Smith, there is still a lack of leadership, direction, management and long kicking in our halves.

Our fifth tackle plays are shockingly bad and have been for years.
