Re: Lam Out!
I know many subscribe to the theory that if you replace a head coach, successors bring instant change and success.
For me, I think it too late this season, six or seven games maybe. I think we just need to ride this out and see what happens at the end of the season.
I too fall into the camp of those not convinced if Peet is taking over next season.
I'm hoping for a major internal review (top to bottom) at the end of the season.

If a coach comes in now, he can put his playing style into play, or at least try, take training with them also he gets to see how his team play and there’s nothing seeing it in a competitive match.
Then he can go into pre season with a better idea with what he’s got to do, adjustments etc

I agree with your logic and at another SL club I think that could work well.Barney841 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 4:42 pmI’m sorry but I think your wrong.CheshireWarrior wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 4:20 pm I know many subscribe to the theory that if you replace a head coach, successors bring instant change and success.

Concerning us though, if it's Peet, I'm worried it's a 'yes man' appointment who won't bring radical change (now or next season) and I think we are so depleted and with up coming suspensions, it could prove fruitless. The only advantage might be that Lam would be out.
That said, if we actually spent money on a proven, experienced coach, who has the bollocks to front KR and IL and state 'he wants X, Y and Z' and club management agree to a low profile over certain team affairs and let him run things, I'd say go for it.

I just think it’s worth doing as I don’t think we could do any worse.CheshireWarrior wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 5:09 pmI agree with your logic and at another SL club I think that could work well.Barney841 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 4:42 pmI’m sorry but I think your wrong.CheshireWarrior wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 4:20 pm I know many subscribe to the theory that if you replace a head coach, successors bring instant change and success.

I agree that we need a top coach who speaks his mind, and we really should have that as we are Wigan.

Not wasting my life on that dross.
I do not believe for one minute that IL would pay Lam his money and allow Peet to take over selection and coaching, never in a million years.
Re: Lam Out!
Lam is on a rolling contract. I thought that meant they could let him go at anytime without making a big pay off.

I thought it was one season at a time?Graham1 wrote:Lam is on a rolling contract. I thought that meant they could let him go at anytime without making a big pay off.
Assuming I am correct given there isn’t much of this season left it would not be that expensive to pay him off?
Surely IL must see things remaining are they are means things will only get worse not better.

Have to agree Dave. Problem is if rumours are correct not going to change. We are in need of change quickly starting at top working down. Without wane and job for boys cultureDaveO wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 9:17 pmI thought it was one season at a time?Graham1 wrote:Lam is on a rolling contract. New blood with a winning ethics has to be brought in
Re: Lam Out!
We need a top class coach who has had no ties with the club in the past Peet and Wane doing the rumors' .Cant see season tickets increasing if that's the case we need a new coach sod the Wigan culture jobs for the boys.
