Perhaps a centre would be Reece Lyne at Wakefield. He was OOC this year but don't know if he's re-signed for them or going elsewhere. Not the greatest but always looks handy and made Waney's original England squad.

Reece Lyne signed a new deal last week palWiganer Ted wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 2:53 pm Perhaps a centre would be Reece Lyne at Wakefield. He was on a pittance at Wigan. We should have kept him and paid him accordingly.ddtftf wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 2:03 pmTom Davies is on 4 times the Wigan salary to told me when we were in the same hotel in CornwallCharriots Offiah wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 12:31 amWe should have retained Davies, he is far better than what we have got.

unfortunately we had 4 excellent wingers all wanting 1st team action and all home grown talent. With that situation you cant keep all 4 happy and pay them decent 1st team salaries. In hindsight we would have kept Tom with what has happened to Dom and Budgie, but you cant predict that. Just as an example if we paid them all £100k, thats £200k sat in the stands of the salary cap, so no club could sustain thatCharriots Offiah wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 9:50 pmHe was on a pittance at Wigan. Fair play to Tom for wanting regular 1st team rugby and subsequently getting the rewards at Catalan of regular rugby and salary for that

Re: Eden & Miller To Wigan ?
But we were paying him a pitiful salary for a player of his quality and therefore by keeping him on our books we wouldn’t have had £100k sat in the stands unless it was Budgie or Dom. If that had happened then it should have become obvious that it was time to move one of them on, not Tom. For a team like Wigan to finish up with only one winger in our squad is a disgrace.the pieman wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 12:04 amunfortunately we had 4 excellent wingers all wanting 1st team action and all home grown talent. It isn’t always as easy as “moving one of them on”. If budgie and Dom have a contract at the time then that’s that.Charriots Offiah wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 1:16 amBut we were paying him a pitiful salary for a player of his quality and therefore by keeping him on our books we wouldn’t have had £100k sat in the stands unless it was Budgie or Dom. I do agree though in hindsight we should have kept him.

I agree it is not always straightforward.nathan_rugby wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 9:05 amIt isn’t always as easy as “moving one of them on”.
