I said exactly that!

He has been exploiting quick play of the balls and making great yards. He’s causing us lots of problems.
If only we had a hooker capable of doing the same thing
Are you for real Meds? Powell is completely different to how he played under Lam! Hard working for 80 minutes every game. And gave us two incredible tries 😊

Trying to work out how we for French into the team. Cust has done nothing spectacular bit I think he is a great prospect, nice to have some control in the middle, and the gaps out wide are a result of his hard work.

Sad I won't get to see alive game for several weeks now. Truly excited to be watching Wigan for the first time in many years. It's hard for those of us 2 hours away with no RL banter in our community.
Jason Robinson is a fan of Jai Field 😊

Jason Robinson and Lee Westwood lead the tributes for Jai Field after stunning Wigan Warriors hat-trick

Huge names from the sporting world have been talking about Jai Field after his stunning performance for Wigan Warriors, including a club legend.

To say Jai FIeld has enjoyed a stunning start to the season would be an understatement.

The Wigan Warriors star backed up an impressive double in the round one clash against Hull KR and went one better with an outstanding hat-trick in the 34-10 win over Leeds Rhinos.

Though one of the tries was ever so slightly fortunate, Field produced two utter moments of magic with two stunning tries that set the DW Stadium alight.

His second of the evening saw him show incredible acceleration to get between two Leeds defenders, while his second effort showcased brilliant anticipation following Patrick Mago's offload, and then a dazzling display of speed and agility to run 80 metres up field

Afterwards, fans and viewers were in awe of the Australian, with even the great Jason Robinson delivering praise.

Can shift a bit’: Former NRL gun’s insane hat-trick sets Super League alight

Australian rugby league ace Jai Field bagged his first-ever hat-trick in his career to help his Super League side Wigan Warriors to a 34-12 win over Leeds Rhinos.

It was the Warriors’ second win in as many games to start the Super League season, as the former Dragons and Eels man played a starring role in the victory.

It was Rhinos debutant and fellow NRL alumnus Blake Austin who opened the scoring after 11 minutes with a try converted by Aidan Sezer.

Leeds would have expected to be 12-0 up not long after, as Liam Tindall made a big break from his own 20.

Just as it looked like he would race away to score and further dampen the spirits inside DW Stadium, Field produced a crucial try-saving tackle that sent Tindall across the sideline.

That moment sparked the crowd and Field into life, as the Wollongong native scored his first try of the night in the 24th minute after picking up a ball that appeared to have been knocked on by teammate Jake Bibby before going on to convert his own four-pointer.

Field then went on to weave his magic wand for his second of the night, dancing his way through the Rhinos who struggled to lay so much as a finger on him as the 24-year-old again converted his own try to hand the Warriors a 12-6 lead at the break.

With the game delicately poised, it would seem that whoever landed the first blow in the second half would be crucial.

Thankfully for Wigan, they crossed over first with Sam Powell scoring the first of his two tries.

And from the restart, it was the Warriors again who scored as Field scored what is undoubtedly a serious contender for try of the season.

He caught an offload from a teammate around his own 20-metre mark, before a cheeky sidestep turned a Leeds defender inside out as Field began to hit the gas.

Another Leeds player hoped to stop him with an ankle tap but to little avail, as Field ran into open air to score a try and secure a stunning hat-trick to send Super League fans into a frenzy.

Powell got his second of the game only five minutes later as Wigan chalked up 16 points in just seven minutes to all but put the game to bed.

Leeds managed to hit back in the 61st minute via Matt Prior, although it was nothing more than a consolation try.

But the Warriors would have the last laugh in the 73rd minute as Liam Farrell scored a try from just one metre out.

Really enjoyed the match the team looks like they want to play for each other the atmosphere was good. Changed stands from East to West wish we had done it years ago no cranking your neck to watch screen a bit more leg room only downfall as it got Latics pictures instead of Warriors on wall.

Good team performance, our poor start gifted Leeds plenty ball. Even with that though early they seemed to be struggling with the pace of the game in the forwards I realize they have players to come back in.
Ellis and Byne while not spectacular are looking what we have missed. Both good size and get through loads of work, both hit out 90m. Mago off the bench is such a good watch constantly attracts defenders and leaves a body on the ground quick play the ball and very good hands. I don't think Singo will ever be a massive metre maker but he makes double the tackles and looks like a player who hurts has that bit of an edge to him. From what I have seen of Ellis he's also got that decent pass that we have not seen yet but just doing 10 hit ups for 90m will do fine and I think he will improve. Back row off the back of forwards laying a platform looks good Batty was back last night some nice touches with the ball and 100m. Faz can seem to do nothing and still produce 150m. Smithies again can in this team do what he does well he's making that step now big engine. Powell looks the player he was becoming couple of years back. Little subtle improvement with how he's stepping out from play the ball, just needs to time that with his pass topped the tackle count. KPP has made that centre position look much stronger obviously he can take the ball to the line, break a tackle and offload but what's really impressive is how he reads the game in D. He tackles hard but he's so controlled very impressive.
All seem together Cust and Tommy look solid and it's early days yet.
Best until last Field and the coaching! A part of Peet's coaching seems the people skill. Keeping hold of and having faith in this lad while many would have not blinked if he had left. It must have been tough for him injured with a disjointed team on and off the pitch. But that's in the space of a warm up game and two full blooded hit outs seems a very long time ago. That tackle! That second try! That third!!! The look Peet had after the third try said a lot for me sometimes you just need someone to have faith.
To be actually looking forward to the next game is a pleasure I had almost forgot. Field Peet and and the coaching set up must be applauded. Early days but I already had more value this year than last and a little hope.

Isn't it great to see someone with genuine pace?

Their winger ran around Marshal (who is no slouch), yet Field's cover tackle was sublime. He looked like he was jogging over until he decided to tackle.

Great to watch.

Bateman also put in a shift last night which was nice to see.
