Maybe awkward is all, we can't keep a quota spot free just in case something like this happens.
A swap might be on the cards in the close season but it would be unlikely that a top Knights player would agree. Dreaming on, the young centre Best (?) would be ideal for us.

What’s the issue?

There isn’t any way you can stop agents and players moving to Australia.

It’s an internal issue that so many players want to go.

The English premier league doesn’t lose many English players to other leagues. It’s because it’s the best competition, with a lot of the best players, a lot of the best coaches, very well paid, probably most watched sport.
Completely agree.
Who doesn’t want to compete in this best comp on better wages? It’s a short career make the most of it but I do admit I do feel Wigan make it easy for players to leave, you only have to look at teams like Saints and Leeds they never seem to lose players that easy.
What I will say the only down fall with some of the English players it defined their career in the NRL. They either make it or a note or less a complete flop and they comeback a shadow of their former self
While I agree players should get what the can out of a short career (notice how I haven't said KKP is at fault for wanting to go.)

But the agents are part of the problem they are pushing the Talent drain and regardless of the RFL our sport will not grow while it is pushed as second class from every angle.

We shouldn't want to hear opinions like Roby or Lockers would have ripped up the NRL in my opinion that should t matter and we should be talking about them being 2 of the greatest players of their generation instead.
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

I would Imagine that any player that truly wants the challenge of playing in the greatest league in the world would do so on a low a wage if that was their number one goal in life, but sadly, all they seem to be bothered about is money.

I await all the usual "It's a short career, I don't blame them" type of comments from the usual suspects

Said the same when the extent of Isa's deal was announced. I for one never doubted his effort or commitment or even how thoroughly nice he is off the field.

For a position we have plenty of cover for we give a 2 year deal to someone we should have looked at moving him on from the team rather than a squad perspective

Misksi is another strange one. Probably signed because even those at the top assumed French wasn't returning. Now he is taking cap and quota space and cannot even get into the starting line-up unless rotated in

With the rumours surrounding Tommy going around yet again - this appears to be a malignancy that we cannot shake eg. keeping players when they have long since played their best

I have no problem with him going. He left London to join us and now wants to move on again to an Aussie side. I just do not appreciate the "tapping up" of contracted players - that stinks and should be stopped in any country

Have to agree. I know it happens in all sports but that doesn't make it right. It does stink and needs dealing with. Hardaker and Leeds had the same smell. Or is it fans being paranoid. I think not

It is what it is, it can't be denied he has superb potential and will be on many a team's radar!

I suppose, it depends on his NRL aspirations, dollar and his domestic situation!

Fact is though, it can be a very short career, the opportunity he might be presented with now, he might not get again.

Harry Smith & Will Pryce part of the same agency team (Distinct) so I imagine they’re be also getting touted around NRL in the not so distant future.
