Just working on convincing Nathan cleary to come over. DW a big attraction apparently
Re: Matty Nicholson
Thing is you need a balance of youth & experience to win titles -- hence why Batty, Faz & Smithies is perfect.CheshireWarrior wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 9:41 pm I thought he held his own against Huddersfield, he's clearly highly regarded, furthermore, Isa is pushing 34 and KPP is supposedly off down under?
Byrne 22, Havard 21, Partington 23, Shorrocks 22 + Ellis 25, Mago 27, Singo 29, Cooper 33.
By the time we "need" young forwards, we'll have many more prospects coming through.

Sad to hear this based on some glowing reviews about his potential.
We cannot keep them all, but you have to hope we keep the best players.
Would rather we didn’t resign McDonnel if it meant keeping him.

I'd rather we kept them both even if it means releasing KPP early.nathan_rugby wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 7:33 am Sad to hear this based on some glowing reviews about his potential.

There's two you've named there before Nicholson who won't be here come the end of next season!widdenoldboy wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 7:12 pmGood points but it often comes down to game time, Matty must look at the team and see Bateman, Faz, KPP, Isa, Smithies as backrow competition with McDonnel and Nsemba (and others) waiting in the wings. Even with more cash some will leave for 1st team rugby.Charriots Offiah wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 7:06 pmIt is up to the club to make sure they have our best prospects tied down.josie andrews wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 5:43 pm

I agree,if a player has a new deal sorted at another club let them go,nothing wrong in it but the club has more players than places to keep a player who’s going anyway (seemingly) makes little sense and in the end could end up biting the club on the behind.Charriots Offiah wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 10:46 amI'd rather we kept them both even if it means releasing KPP early.nathan_rugby wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 7:33 am Sad to hear this based on some glowing reviews about his potential.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: Matty Nicholson
Suppose the good thing to take away is he’s staying over here and the NRL isn’t the be all of our sport at least to this young lad still good luck to him,it’s either the beginning of a bright new dawn at wire..or not we shall see.
Re: Matty Nicholson
If you read the press releases, the move becomes even odder. Wigan clearly disappointed in the player but Warrington aren't even planning on playing him this year stating that he'll come to first grade in 2023.
