How much was Chiwumba-wumbas',
or what ever his name is, own goal worth at the bookies last night. Come back Sean Long all is forgiven. Sorry to bring up the Lactics on this weblog but nice to see that they could not fill the JJB even against Man U although I do understand that two of last night speccies were a certain delight of GeoffN's and mine and her little sister, shame on you MrsLam

But they have filled it several times already I understand despite "odd ball kick off times" and live television.
You'd do well to understand that we are unlikley to get a gate that size at any game his season let alone sell out.....another example of us concentrating on outside events again and not looking at what it is we can achieve in the sphere we are operating in .....we don't look any closer to getting back to the very top despite having been off the pace for 5 years.
How are we going to fix that ?

I think as wigan fans we now have to be very patience and stop jumping to knee jerk reactions (sack the coach now syndrome),I for one was astonished by phil clark's statistic of how much personel have changed at wigan to the other big clubs.
I think this season we need to stop having very high hopes (like we have done for the past five seasons) and just take one game at a time.

wigan warriors dont need to fill the stadium we operate within a salary cap! an average crowd of 14000 last season made us one of the top supported teams in rugby league. if the football team filled the jjb every week they would not be in the top 10 best supported teams in football. as for us getting back to the top this will in time happen. wigan will win silverware its just a matter of time. we have to much quality within our coaching staff and youth setup to never get to the top again!

dont let your victories go to your head or your failures go to your heart

Why are we obsessed by what is going on in wendyball?
The main sport in wigan is rugby, and always will be.

Jesus, is racism getting endemic here or what? Our foreign friends with their funny names, eh? His name is 'Chimbonda'.
I find it strange that people from Wigan would be pleased that the Mancs won this game. They were certainly pretty lucky; even Ferguson admitted that.
And 23,500 for a game on live television, the week after they took 27,000 to Cardiff, against the very same team that humped them 4-0 can harly be considered a 'bad' crowd.

I think you forget that Latics are the supporters who have chanted "we hate Wigan Rugby league" for many years now, and they are responsible for all the trouble and violence in the stadium.im_a_cuckoo posted:

That's why a good number of rugby fans are upset and will not support the football team. Also, i think for a game with Man Untd the stadium should have been a sell-out easily, i think crowds will start to drop next season when the novelty value of being in the premiership wears thin.

Can you tell me when there has been trouble inside or outside one of their games this season. I've never seen it in the Post. And, as the Sku camera have been at nearly every game, I'm sure we'd have seen any major trouble.
Wasn't there a rugby fan banned from the JJB after this first game of the seaso? That's the only thing I've seen.

My god man, they are famous for ripping up seats and on two occasions, one last season and one this season police confiscated over a dozen crates hidden behind pizza hut filled with broken bottles, that fans had planned to use after the game on away supporters. That's just sick!
And was the rugby fan not a Leeds Fan?
My point is this, the Latics fan's have always been the ones who hate the rugby fans. We are just above all this nonsence.

You may find this hard to beleive, but this being a RL site, nobody realy gives a rats ass about the latics.im_a_cuckoo posted:

We are supporters of a game where players can chip a fingernail and not writhe around the floor in agony.
Why do you keep posting messages about how wonderful your game is?
I have nothing against your football team, but don't particularly want to hear about them on this website.
Request to moderators, can you not block any non RL postings so we can continue discussing the greatest game?
