Bateman
Re: Bateman
I wouldn't be bothered if he left, He is decent enough but not good enough for the Marque money, Bateman pre Canberra would have been worth every penny of it but he is a shadow of his former self.
2 open Marque slots gives us plenty of scope for a couple of big name signings, If Thompson can be lured then that will fill Batemans slot and if Frenchy decides to stay then give him the other slot, If Frenchy goes yam then we can bring in a tasty NRL player in the other slot, that is my take on it anyway.

Re: Bateman
I would rather keep KPP over bateman - i wouldnt be too upset to see bateman leave at the moment he doesnt look like he will rediscover his pre NRL form

Re: Bateman
Bateman is in the solid performer category at present, wonder what the club would do at contract renewal?

That's the word solid but that form from his days before the NRL are so far eluding himwiddenoldboy wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 10:24 am Bateman is in the solid performer category at present, wonder what the club would do at contract renewal?

Re: Bateman
Been good for us since his return.
Not close to previous Wigan or Canberra form.
Hope his salary isn’t well beyond the marquee limits as it isn’t justified.

Re: Bateman
Me too, plus French. KPP insists that he has two internationals in front of him for second row & that would be the only reason he left Wigan! Two internationals one who is 32 the other almost 29, KPP 21!Wigan_forever1985 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 9:35 am I would rather keep KPP over bateman - i wouldnt be too upset to see bateman leave at the moment he doesnt look like he will rediscover his pre NRL form
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: Bateman
I’d rather let kpp go next year and take a big fee for him. He’s not getting in front of faz or batty, isa is still there next year and junior will be coming through in the next 2 years.
