Granted it would appear that Millward had made some errors, but I'm not going to lay all the blame at his door.

The majority of players are old enough and experienced enough to take responsibility for their own actions which has led to these shambolic performances.

Primrose :conf:

The pack was fine. They set an unbelievable platform in that first 35 minutes. No side ever breaks us down the middle. Even on our own line the tries never come near the potb, they come out wide.

SIMPLE PROBLEM, we set a platform that should lead to tries but it never does because the halfbacks and centres are not good enough. We are the worst club in SL for converting pressure into points.

Wire, you deserved your win but no offence you were nothing special IMO bar the spark of Briers. You played for each other and worked damn hard. However that seems a trend in SL. I really am afraid that SL is nowhere near as good as some would make out which is deeply worrying for us given our position.

Loughlin is doing fine. He's a standout in defence and a lot of those half breaks are due to his amazing handling ability. It was such a shame that kick got blocked in the first half because it was the perfect idea for Calderwood. He's talking to the players. Briers is OTT but hey he's OTT when things are going right. More importantly, is Briers cheerleader act more vital than his kicking game? NOpe.

Look at our halfbacks and centres and then you have the problem

I'm not going to put all the blame with Millward, the players have to take the responsibility for the gameplan not being used effectively on the field of play.
We have a good coach, the squad has been improved (in most positions) ... therefore why the lack of pride and passion on the field.
Surely thats what a good coach is, a man who gets every last bit of ability and effort out of the players he's got.
One point being overlooked by everybody who clings to the idea that Millward is a good coach (I regret deeply having to say this) is how much Stains have improved since Millward was fired and replaced there by Daniel Anderson.

The problem is that in the three key areas in a rugby team is the axis of three.
SCRUM HALF, STAND OFF, LOOSE FORWARD
No my friend.
I've posted on this a while back now.
Your problem isn't Moran and Orr. Its your pack.
No halfback in the world could play behind a pack that doesn't set out a platform giving room for your backs to run.
What a post. You know nothing about rugby. Our pack had us in a great position for most of the first half, but our half backs couldn't capitalise.
