“Surprise Signing”

Just been told in the past few minutes that “Wigan are going all guns blazing for a surprise signing, BIG name”

Has anyone heard any rumours of big names? All I can think is Luke Thompson.

This has supposedly came from a Wigan player who knows the player we are trying to sign but he would not give a name. The person who told me was told 2nd hand as it is so Im not too sure what to make of it as Ive heard nothing from my usual places.

To me, that leaves two options:
A) A world class prop or hooker. Those are the two upgradable positions in the starting 13.
B) Someone with star power but ultimately a squad player a la Sonny Bill Williams, Greg Inglis, etc.

A wildcard could be a star halfback if Custy permanently goes to 9 but I doubt that.

I honestly have no Idea…. It feels like something id probably of heard at least a small bit of info about personally if its this big & true, so Im not too sure what to make of it, unless it is Thompson which I was told about right at the start of Wane/Peet coming in

They are all up for grabs and looking for SL clubs, surely one could be signed even if it was just for one season with an option for a second, I would hate to see them all come over here and end up at Saints, Leeds & Warrington and all perform well, knowing we could signed one if not two, depending on who was released

We are pretty well stocked at Prop though so I’d say it’s highly unlikely .

I genuinely don't think any club in the world says no to Luke Thompson.

I could easily see Mago, Singleton & Ellis leave in order to facilitate that move.
