No, I don’t say that, but unless members on here subscribe to the link you posted they won’t be able to read the report so really that link is a waste!
If that was the case, why did you not post the whole story in case others on here can’t!
I couldn’t read it from your link & I would suspect the majority on here wouldn’t have been able to either, just the headline!

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Is that right that stains lost nearly 1.7 mil as well. Bit worrying if they’ve only lost 100 k less than us while nearly winning every trophy as well. When they go to pot their crowds will dip back below 10 k again
Re: Warriors make £1.8m loss in 2021
Pretty sure this was accounts for a covid year, so not representative of the current finances of clubs.
Re: Warriors make £1.8m loss in 2021
Losses for the 2021 season: Wigan £1.79m vs Saints £1.69m
Losses for the 2020 season: Wigan £461k vs Saints £704k
For Wigan they class 30th Nov as year end vs Saints 31st Oct. So almost apples to apples comparison

Re: Warriors make £1.8m loss in 2021
Yep that is true. Saints earnings that year from
Winning the challenge cups which is about 400-500 k and winning the grand final as well as the grand final tickets they sold would have more than covered that mil anyway. Will be interesting too see what the accounts are for this year
Re: Warriors make £1.8m loss in 2021
Should be better as I seem to recall IL stating that the Challenge Cup was more lucrative than the GF although this may not be the same with the 1896 cup or whatever it is now taking place as a curtain raiser.

Re: Warriors make £1.8m loss in 2021
just taking a quick look over the numbers the other day i did notice that Saints revenue was significantly greater than Wigan's, somewhere around £2.5m for both 2020 / 2021 seasons
that is probably down to Saints owning the ground, and during Covid it was a vaccination centre, so used throughout. I didnt look at the costs as there is no doubt that they will also be higher due to the ownership / maintenance of the ground etc.

Re: Warriors make £1.8m loss in 2021
Very interesting (if worrying figures) for the four clubs and it doesn't really make a strong case for owning your own ground which I've always been in favour of. In our case I suppose that the amount of extra rent that Latics want to charge in future is going to be a major factor. I'd be interested to know how much more we're making out of the Robin Park 'development' and if we could squeeze more out of that in future. I try not to spend anything in the ground now but it's not easy to get through the queues in Robin Park on match day and it must put some people off spending money there.
