Dallas gets respect for what he has acheived with Wigan over the years and how he has played. The current bunch have a long way to go to emulate 1% of what their predecessors acheived.

They can't take the support for granted.

They do get my support every week but if they are poor they get my critisim as well.

But you said they deserved our support because of past records. I am saying only Dallas qualifies on that count, if the past record is indeed a reason to support them now.

The current bunch have a lot to do to win the fans oaver given current performances.

I always support them at games although I'll admit to an outburst of "Wigan, you are rubbish!" at the Wire game, but I wasn't exactly telling lies with that was I?

As a true fan I think you're entitled to express irritation at your club. Support is a two-way street. Think of all the time, emotion and money a fan invests in his team. In return, the team owes it to him to try and win matches.

This is a particularly difficult situation at Wigan at present, for three reasons:

1. This season was supposed to be the rebirth season.
2. This season is already almost over for us, when in fact it's hardly even begun.
3. We KNOW that many of the current Wigan team are far better players than this. Last season we had a team full of kids and lame ducks. Not so this year, so add bewilderment and confusion to the general air of despondency.

Having said that, staying away or organising St Helens-type protests is not the Wigan way. For one thing, our attendances are the only thing we have to shout about at present. For another it can be self-defeating. I was part of a stay-away campaign once in the 1970s. I managed to extend it to one match, and still have bitter memories of sitting in my back yard listening to the roars of excitement from Central Park, as Wigan marked their first victory in ages by overcoming a much-fancied Workington.

A better protest by far is to write articulate, non-abusive letters to the local press. I have it on good authority that letters to the local papers are read and taken seriously by the powers-that-be at the JJB.

Well, I am glad for one that I made my personal protest and did not go to Castleford. This was the first game ( competitive ) that I have missed in 7 years. If this carries on my season ticket is going in the Duggie !

I honestly believe a protest should be organised to confront players and coach at St John Rigby when they are training. We need them to understand what the Cherry n White represents and what we expect.

Trying to make our protest peaceful but very noticeable; what about:-

At the next home game we all wear our cherry n white; and when the game kicks of we all stand with our backs to the action !!!

I agree with this....Why should we keep shut when were paying to watch CRAP!

We need to do somthing NOW or Warriors will be relegated sorry folks but thats what can and WILL happen....Wigan RL R.I.P....I live less than ten minutes away but will stay at home on the next home game....I'll keep the money in my own pocket not Dave Whelans
