Mago
Re: Mago
So Mago is looking for a 2 year deal at Cas.
Cas have spoken to Wigan about it and the coaches have discussed the move.
Peet had basically said Mago isn’t the style of Prop Wigan like however he could do a job at Cas if they are wanting impact.
Cas are nervous about giving him a 2 year deal and want him on loan asap to see how he fits in and they have concerns over him being lazy.
Wigan would be receptive to the move now like a try before you buy, but they are not willing to make it happen until they have a suitable replacement secured.

Re: Mago
So when Mago arrived he was a regular in the Rabits squad and a good player.
A couple of years on with shit coaching his game has deteriorated
Still he is the only forward who passes in the tackle
Same can be said about Cust
Player with potential and calibre
Come to Wigan with shite coaching( this season)
These two players are no worse than other players in their position
Gutted if we let them go

Re: Mago
Mago played 23 games for Rabbits in 2 years not sure I’d class that as a regular .

Re: Mago
This doesn't make sense unless Wigan want someone to replace him immediately to free a quota spot.Jonh wrote: ↑Sun Jun 25, 2023 10:36 pm So Mago is looking for a 2 year deal at Cas.

His contract up at the end of the year why would Wigan care if Cas are unsure about him, he'd be gone either way.
Re: Mago
Mago the best we get is a few offloads and few OK runs, he's a liability in defence and is blowing out his arse after 10 mins. He was criticised by Bennett in the past for not being in the right condition.Pbickerstaff wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2023 8:28 pm So when Mago arrived he was a regular in the Rabits squad and a good player.

Also Cust was a backup hooker at manly who didn't play many games.
Unfortunately for Cust the big injurys he's sustained I feel have effected his body and he's struggling to get himself right.
Not every player is going to turn out good. Both French & Field where back up players to and they've been great, Ellis has been solid too.
Re: Mago
Wigan are happy to release him immediately but only if they can find a replacement, the replacement needs to be one that would add value now…and next season so it will be now probably getting one of our secured props for next year in early, except perhaps Chan.Pieman13 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2023 10:49 pmThis doesn't make sense unless Wigan want someone to replace him immediately to free a quota spot.Jonh wrote: ↑Sun Jun 25, 2023 10:36 pm So Mago is looking for a 2 year deal at Cas.

Cas want him on loan before deciding if they are willing to offer him a 2 year deal which Mago wants to derisk the move.

Re: Mago
having a motivated Mago, could work well for us towards the business end of the season
if we assume that Havard, Byrne and Ellis are going to be our 3 main props, then we have Singleton, Hill and Mago looking to fill 2 bench spots. We know Singleton is sorted and has a contract with Salford for next season. Hill is making his way nicely into the 1st team at the minute, but not yet ready to play week in week out, so Mago looking for a 2 year deal at Cas could work well for us.
i can see some positive scenarios for us out of this
1. He puts it in every week he is still at Wigan and he plays well til the end of he season. Based on performance he gets at gig at Cas
2. He's playing well, Cas want him this season and we manage to recruit who we want, so club and player happy
3. not really a positive, but he isnt arsed, Cas dont want him and he gets released at the end of his contract
