Not going to spoil it for the NRL fans who have still to watch the Titans v Tigers match

Fair to say that captain Bateman wasn't too good.

Wests had a bye last week and many Tigers fans are blasting the fact that he came back to the UK for 10 days and only returned Thursday (prior to Saturday's game) so was clearly showing signs of jet lag.

Plenty of criticism over lack of professionalism shown by management and player (especially as the tigers wont feature in the play off so will finish the season early). I know it is forum stuff but this is some of the stuff being said.
It would have been ok if we didn’t invite him back.
700k for a slow old small battered toiler is part of our problem.
There’s dozens of players as effective as him playing NSW & Qld Cup.

Was a great move to let him go when we did, his form had been poor and he didn't look like the player he had been before his move to Aus. Although, as DaveO will no doubt point out, the circumstances didn't seem to be handled well, with the club looking like they were not in control of the player and his agents. Perhaps though, we were looking for an opportunity to move him on, and took it even though the timing was less than ideal .

Must admit we dodged a bullet by getting rid clearly nowhere near the player he was quite why he signed for such a basket case of a club is beyond me sad though he was a hell of a player just a couple of years back

He was no good when he came back with Wigan second time round.
Couldn’t believe it when he signed for the Tigers, thought he’s done nothing here for the NRL to come calling

See a lot of he’s left so he was shit posts in this thread. He wasn’t as good as his first time around but he was still better than Isa and KPP or anyone else we thrust into the back row like Shorocks.

I think most people where saying the same thing though he wasn't the player he was before he left and given he was on a fair wage sorry he wasn't delivering,so no not being revisionist at all just a fair assessment of a player who simply wasn't as good when he came back but then again none are

Shorrocks has done ok Dave O , he’s played in several positions and never moaned just got on with it nobody has ever claimed he was a world beater but he’s done his job for the team , he’s made the odd mistake but overall he’s not let anyone down and doesn’t deserve to be unfairly compared to a player who left Wigan for selfish reasons

How do you know?

Whilst there are certain players who are doing well this year, the fact remains that not too long ago Shorrocks was surplus to requirements and sent on loan to Leigh and Isa couldn’t get into the squad for for 1/3 of last season.

Granted Bateman didn’t live up to his reputation and salary but we are getting weaker, not stronger, in certain positions.
