Two very bad signings, in Hampshire and Thornley, they weren't good enough the first time round, so why re-sign them.
Hopefully Radlinski has learned a lesson, after these signings and the George Burgess fiasco.
Signings, so far, for next season looking good, just need a centre to replace King, a great No. 6 and a big enforcer of a Prop.
He won’t have learned anything because he makes the same wrong daft decisions over and over again. A Wigan legend on the pitch but not up to the job of what he’s doing now. We have made a lot more poor signings than good ones, especially props. We have such an unbalanced side with players playing out of position just to give them a game. Hopefully peet realised this soon and fixes it or we might now win anything this season.

Didn't Hampshire leave of his own accord because he didn't want to be fullback?
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.
The problem I see is that if you look within the team right now you may say French is a superstar winger and that’s where he should play
That’s a debatable I can see people like DaveOs point for sure but I still think in crunch matches the heavy lifting is done by wingers being used on exit sets. Think of the best wingers in the league like makinson - he’s almost more known for his ball returns as he is his tries.
Like it or not it’s a modern game aspect - offaih for example would propbably struggle in the modern game because he would be expected to drive the ball out - crabbing across the line expecting to find a gap but middles are a lot lot fitter now and you can’t go round them you have to go through them
Having a winger who can’t do that could mean the difference between starting your set on the 20m of starting your set on the 40m line
That argument aside as I accept that others disagree
In a modern day salary cap sport can anyone support spending a large sum of money on a winger? - for me it has to be a spine player or maybe an exceptional prop.
I agree with the OP we’ve got two full backs who offer pretty much the same thing and a gaping hole at 6 - really I’d prefer miski on the wing field/French at fb and bring in a really good 6 - Cust also put out to pasture
Having a superstar winger and no one to play 6 effectively to me isn’t a good use of the cap as in a tight match your wingers are used more industrially
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure
The irony of this all is we had a coach who would of delivered who is now one of if not the best half back in the league
I understand why we don’t but I still find it baffling watching leigh this year that lam was unable to get a tune from Wigan yet is doing things with Leigh that’s making them dark horses for both trophies this year

Lam brought in Field and French but they got injured very early. If he had got rid of Powell and replaced him with Ipape and brought in his son to compliment Smith I think we would have seen Wigan playing like Leigh.

They both made big errors tonight which contributed to our loss. We will solve that problem for next season.

Leigh don't invest in their academy. Derek has also offered bonus for getting to certain points. Add the party feel and relaxed training.
It's a short term gain method to stay up and I would not be surprised if they gey pulled for cap breeches. However means nothing in the grand scale of it as if they stay up and gey CAT A they are safe.

People keep going on about the positions that these two play in well last night wakey had a winger at scrum half and a fullback at stand off nothing short of being disgracefull wigan
