Well if that was true what right do 4 or 5 players have to waste 16000+ fans money? Think if I was DW or ML then its the players I would be getting rid of !! I think there is 3 strong willed men all determined to get their own way ML because he always has & is threatened IM may if let do a better job than him, DW I don't believe a word that man says & IM who we all knew was/is controversial this was always a recipe for disaster. What I say is take ML & DW out of rugby matters get rid of the 4/5 players immediately who have no pride in the shirt or respect for the fans (this is no way to sort out their grievances, how long would we last in our jobs acting like that?) and get the players in who WANT to play for Wigan. Lets face it which other coach is available & what would happen if 4/5 players didn't like him would it get rid of the coach again? oops haven't we done this before? Frank E and remind me what was he guilty of wasn't it Andy F and Dennis B & ML that didn't like him oh or was that Raper? We obviously can't keep blaming the coaches its got to be something else.

this as come third hand to me so dont know how true it is just woundering if anyone else as heard anything on these lines.
I heard something similar to this. Players were unhappy with Millward becoming coach last year like and Aspinwall and Newton and they both went. I've heard that Tickle is unhappy with Millward as coach (apparently Tickle turned down a move to St Helens because of Millward and came to Wigan instead) and Pat Richards isn't settling in to life in England.

These are only rumours though and when a club has had a bad start to the season rumours like this always come out.

At the end of the day the players are professionals (supposedly) and paid a high wage to do a job most blokes of their age would love to do.

They need to buckle down and get on with it. No one will be interested in signing them if they look rubbish for Wigan so it is in their own interests to play as well as they can.

I have thought professionaliam was lacking for a while now when you hear comstant stories of senior players being out on the town drunk.

Apparetly Millward's coaching technique is to commumicate what he wants through a handful of players rather than coach the team directly.

If that is true then it is very odd but regardless of Millward the players themselves are just not putting the effort in so we can't just blame Millward's coaching technique.

Certain players unhappy?

Try every single Wigan fan

How long before talk about players jumping ship raises it's head? Personally I think that IF we go down, then every single contracted player should be forced to honour their contract - they got us into this mess...

On the (one, very minor) plus side it seems unlikely that we would be negotiating with Moran about a new contract - unless DW is selling mobile phones!

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?

Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

If we go down all players contracts become null and void.

Given the fact as individuals many of our team are highly rated, I dounbt we would be left with a team capable to compete in NL1. All the decent players would be off like a shot.

Ashton, Wagga, Calders, O'Loughlin and all the overseas contingent would leave.

We might end up with Briwn, Higham, Orr and Moran (if the lattrer fancied a year in NL1) and the kids but any players of any potential would find it easy to get a slot in a SL side and would do so.

That is why it would be such a disater to go down. If you are on paper a poor SL side no on will want your cast offs so you might retain a few of them and be a top Nl1 side from day one.

If you are a good side on paper (as Wigan are) then other clubs will be onto you like a vulture on a carcass.

We can wave them bye bye if we get relegated.

Would you care to explain that comment please?

FYI I have expressed the view players spend more time eout on the town than they should before now.

They are not behaving professionally off the field IMO.

The players second half performances lack effort. What are we supposed to say? It's down to the weather?

I can personally vouch for the drinking element of the squad and was in the Royal Oak when the infamous brawl with Salford erupted. There's nothing new in rugby players drinking, but this was at 6.00 on Saturday afternoon (not last orders) and children including my own where in the pub.
