The crowd of 11,163 beats the 10,926 that turned up at Headingley for the semi-final between these two clubs last season.
Today’s attendance is about average for a cup semi-final, but how does it rate compared to other rugby league matches that have taken place at the same stadium in Doncaster.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

So what is the point here? If we can't be criticised for the win, we'll be criticised for the turn-out?

Re: Wigan squad for Hull KR (Semi-Final)
That's a point proven by the forwards. And they needed to do it, we were well beaten by KR last time out and that sets the record straight. A great performance in a match that means something. It bodes well for the playoffs.

Got to love the charity shop advert ommemt coming from the club who are sponsored by totally wicked for the stadium and Home Bargins on the main kit.JimmyMagnets wrote: ↑Sat May 18, 2024 9:27 pm Saints fans very upset today

Bitter? It's been going on for the past 40 years you clown. Not to mention the constant use of dubious tactics, buying players to stop other teams buying them, breaking the salary cap when you were shite, gobshites like Ben Flower, Terry Newton, McIllorum, that gimp Lyndsay, Wane, that list could go on forever. And of course your trampy fans that look like a charity shop advert. The thing is, we're rent free in your heads, it's you scruffs that keep coming on here posting your drivel (which I suppose is an improvement from being in bed with your sisters).
Vaping and a discount store sponsers and calling Wigan fans tramps (no offence to those who use either store)
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

Stellar Wigan performance.
To echo Caboosegg, respect to Ryan Hall for giving the leading question short shrift. More so in the middle of a performance that must have been a shock.
If Hall can maintain such regard and humility when he becomes Leeds’s chief officer, the Rhinos may have a better long-term future.

Nick Pinkney?
What a hilariously random name for them to pluck out to stir up some controversy from a one sided semi final.
What next? "I thought Hull KR were the better team" says ex BBC weatherman John Kettley

Hull KR were beaten by Wigan Warriors
It was tough day at the office for Hull KR as they were put to bed by Wigan Warriors in the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup in Doncaster.
The Robins, who were hoping to produce a repeat of their 11-10 triumph over the Warriors in last year’s competition, were humbled this time around losing 38-6.
It was a superb display from Matt Peet’s Wigan who never looked in trouble in the game, scoring seven tries on their way to securing a place at Wembley Stadium and revenge for defeat at this stage last season
There was no denying the gulf between the teams at full-time, with the Warriors showing why they are reigning Super League and World Club Champions as they look to hold of the game early and never let go.
Pinkney claims everything went Wigan’s way
Despite Wigan showing they were a class above, former England and Hull KR winger Nick Pinkney believed the game was not a reflection of the ability of both teams.
Speaking to BBC Radio Humberside after the game, Pinkney, who was part of the Sheffield Eagles team that famously beat Wigan in 1998, believes his hometown club were unfortunate that ‘everything came off’ for the Warriors.
You can get to the end of a game and it can look like one team has been completely dominant, said Pinkney.
“You can bring it back to such small margins in a game though, that can make it look like one team was way better than the other.
“You can count a lot of those from this game and I think that is why Willie Peters wasn’t too fussed about it (the result).
“Key decisions and elements in a game can make such a massive difference to the outcome, the way the outcome looks and the scoreline of a game looks.
“I still believe there is nowhere near that amount of points between these two teams. It’s just one of those outcomes today where Rovers weren’t as clinical as what they have been and weren’t defensively strong.
“Wigan were the opposite. But everything Wigan did came off, there were always players there and it seem to always bounce perfectly into their arms. It’s just things like that that make a game blow out.
“That’s how it was today so I’m not going to get overly down about it. It’s a result that is disappointing but I think Rovers will bounce back from that.”
Hull KR below par in crushing defeat
Pinkney did later go on to admit that the result was also down to Hull KR been way below their best, believing they will respond from the setback during the remainder of the Super League season.
“There is a lot in that game Rovers will look at and they will know they can bounce back from. It’s just one game,” Pinkney added.
“There was a feeling that no matter what Hull KR did today it just wasn’t going to be, but, as I say, everything Wigan did just seem to come off.
“I actually thought Rovers had large periods of dominance in that game, especially in terms of field position, but there just wasn’t anything coming from them.
That was because Wigan’s defence was outstanding, but also Hull KR’s attack was clunky and wasn’t where it usually has been.”

Re: Wigan squad for Hull KR (Semi-Final)
Excellent result and performance in the semi.
Big praise to Matty Peet and the coaching staff for doing their homework. Hull KR had their main threats neutralised ie Lewis show and go picking out the centres and back row forwards running into gaps and the big left shift looking to put Ryan Hall into the corner. Wigans forwards were way superior a few of the Hull KR forwards were blowing in the heat. On the back of such a dominant forward display Harry Smith had a field day on many occasions he had enough time to take the lace out of the ball.
In such warm weather, hot conditions and a firm dry pitch Wigan are almost unstoppable
